At last year's Interbike show, Rocky Mountain unveiled their new DH platform - the Flatline. Since that time, the bike has gained quite a following from the gravity crowd and I've even seen an all new Geoff Gulevich signature model frame that will be out in a few months.
Have a look at what Rocky Engineer D'Arcy O'connor and Frorider Wade Simmons have to say about the Flatline inside:
D'Arcy O'Connor talks tech about the Rocky Mountain Flatline:
The Flatline that we took a look at during the Outdoor Demo is their rental fleet model. This means you cannot buy this yellow beast, but you can pick up any one of it's siblings from the Rocky Dealer nearest you. Or go to a bike park and test ride this exact bike next season.
Wade Simmons tells us about the evolution of the DH bikes at Rocky Mountain:
While wandering the Rocky booth during the indoor portion of the big show, I ran into Geoff Gulevich and he happily showed me his all new signature model Flatline. He was so stoked on the way it's turned out and will be rocking it this weekend at the Redbull Rampage: Evolution.

I'm sure it works well, but I think it's burly and meant to take a beating. Whistler has a large fleet of these, and I believe they may have even had some input on the engineering side . . . I think they are nice and plush tho, . .
really didnt talk much about actual specs of the bike. coulda done without knowing about air scoopage and fender flares when they should be explaining why they went with such a long wheelbase and what the wheight is for all these flashy features.
Too bad its no longer a BC brand. They moved everything out east and now their customer service sucks. I ordered a bike the year they moved never showed up at the shop. I waited 3 months until my XC race season was over and i was heading into my downhill season. I canceled the order just after 3 months had passed and bought a Fox 40 for my DH bike. Then in October of that year, another 3 months, one of the vertex 50 that the shopped ordered finally showed up.
What a joke.
YES, I agree somehow Canadian companies are not doing well in customer service partly because we are too layback and the salary is not paid as good as those in the States. No wonder so many specialists go to south to find a job.
Yeah thats cool that Thomas is going to Evil... and Geoff is a pretty rad too. ... change is good I guess.
Look forward to the new vids that they get shot in. Really like where Thomas is at with skill and how smooth he pulls everything off.
got the flatline 11 with some up grades, totems, codes, hadly hubs 729 rims and different tires. by far the best bike i have riden so far. had 2 santa cruz's a bullit and the vp free, some konas and norco's.easly out does any of these other's. it even pedals ok. got the weight down to 39lbs. thanks PC
I rode this bike at the woodlot on saturday. the shop got it in for me to demo. This thing just wants to go fast. My only complaint was the weight.49 lbs. pedling was also an issue. I hit the ground and rocks several times with the pedals. But it is a race specific bike. the specs on the flatline 1 give a couple more inches of ground clearance I was waiting allot for my buddies at the end of the trails.
49 lbs!?! flatline 3 is not over 46.7 lbs...mine is now about 45 lbs with a boxxer. 45 ,is pretty heavy..49 is too much!. But that frame kick ass ,awesome geo! low gravity center= amazing!!
the store that brought this bike in had a scale. 49 lbs was the the weight. It was a park specific bike. so I assume that they had some more robust components. the rep has told us that the flatline 3 and 1 are lighter but did not give us a weight.
frame round the headtube area looks good , different . the swing arm and shock mounting looks good . looks nicer in purple but there was a slayer in an issue of dirt a while ago that had a wood effect paint job , way nicer.
