We headed to Moelfre for the 5th round of British Downhill Series. Often criticized by riders it doesn't change the fact Moelfre is a flat out fast course and more often than not one small mistake can mean a pretty epic crash. It's really not a place to make mistakes. Dan Atherton shaped Moelfre over 10 years ago and other than a few extra jumps for good measure it's more or less the same as Dan carved it all those years ago. If the sheer speed of the place isn't enough to worry you on your descent, then the wind surely is.
In the end it was Matt Simmonds who edged it over an in-form Joe Smith and Manon Carpenter taking the Elite Women's win. It's National Champs next on the Calendar at Llangollen - from the flat out and fast to the fast and technical.

Great filming and action, always good music (I'm not a huge rock&roll fan, but it makes you really excited for racing) and some interesting statements by the riders (not too much)!
