Cody Olsen Builds Trail. Gnarly Trail. Professionally.
Cody OlsenEvergreen Backcountry Maintenance LeadCody learned the edgier side of professional trailbuilding under the famous (/infamous?) Bryan Connolly, Crew Chief and DH designer for Tiger Mountain. On Tiger, he picked up the fundamentals of laying epic trail, building for minimal maintenance needs, and the dark arts of scavenging forest plants for a cheap dinner.
| My favorite kind of trail to build is rough, rocky, and rooty. Your membership allows me to be out here every day doing just that.—Cody Olsen |
Now he cares for the trails most of us can only reach on the weekend as Evergreen’s Backcountry Maintenance Lead. Managing maintenance parties across Washington State, Cody’s task is a fulltime job, and can mean the difference between an epic backcountry ride, or a blow-down-covered hike-a-bike. Your
Evergreen Membership makes his work possible.

From a club of “trail punks” in 1989 to a professionally staffed organization with over 20 full-trailbuilders, Evergreen now partners with those managers to build as much gnarly trail as possible. And with Cody and the rest of the crew, Evergreen has already completed a ton of new projects as it enters the maintenance season for existing trails across the State.
Evergreen’s professionally trained trail crew is a direct result of the support from the Washington Mountain Bike Community.
What’s even more impressive is that Evergreen members make up only 1% of Washington riders. If our members and volunteers can do this much with 1%, imagine what we can do with 2%. We’d love to have you
join today and find out.
During Evergreen’s 2017 Membership Drive we’re offering an annual membership and an Evergreen LastBag (waterproof, sustainable, and really, really strong) to carry your gear, water, or 6 pack—ok, 12 pack—on your next ride. Join us today.
Together, we can make Washington the best place to ride.

Do like the new trails going in everywhere though.
