Last season’s overall winner Cody Kelley carried his momentum from a year ago to take the top spot for Men’s Pro/Open in Round 1.

“It’s always good to start the year off on a high note. I’m stoked out here. Good crew out here in Moab. Having fun,” Kelley said. “I honestly just love the desert. Being from Salt Lake, we come here a lot during the winter. I’ve always just enjoyed it. It’s good times here.”

“It went well. I have nothing to complain about. I made one mistake. I had a lot of fun,” Hills said. “We had a tailwind that made it faster. I had a thoroughly good time for my annual spring Moab shred-fest.”

Competition in Men’s Pro/Open was tight as the top 10 riders finished within a minute of each other.

Damn, is Nate Hills on the sb100? that's gotta say something about the range of use for that bike...

To me it says more about Nate than the bike. Dude can stomp

@Sprockingcrail: For sure, very impressive overall.

On those trails its probably the right choice... if you're a beast.

Or that the trails are flat

He's running a 130mm Pike which probably helps. Still a rad dude though
  • 3 1
@bekahn: still bumpy as f*cking hell. requires a lot of flow.
  • 5 2
he upped the fork to 130mm but still. Switch infinity is the real freaking deal. Those bikes hit way higher than their weight class suggests. to be 20 or 30mm more in fork travel feels perfectly at home with that linkage. It's incredible.

 summit county yooooo

 @bekahn: hahaha

@bekahn: Flat and pedally, but rough as hell, too.

@SnowshoeRider4Life: I agree, the new SB100 is sick, I would totally get one, but at $3,400 for the frame only it's just way too expensive for the average rider to afford... I wish I could get one!
  • 2 0
@mtbmaniak: yea I agree for sure. I was lucky to get a deal on my 5.5, only reason I could afford it!
  • 1 0
@bekahn: enduro or cross country race?
  • 1 0
@mtbmaniak: Can't agree more, Yeti makes a great product, but their prices are just way too much. It's a good time to be a biker with all the new innovations coming out and tons companies becoming more price competitive. Be nice to see Yeti fall into the price competitive spectrum.

"Klondike a snoozefest"....maybe if you haven't ridden it since 2001 when EKG was the big trail.
  • 1 1
which trails are these, im in moab pretty often and i dont recognize the spot?
  • 5 0
"Four timed stages with a 3,000-foot descent over world class, technical slickrock challenged riders on the Klondike Bluffs Trail System"
  • 9 3
Klondike is outside of Moab proper. It's kinda snoozefest really, but not bad for a stop on the way home
  • 5 2
You probably dont recognize it cause nobody goes to moab to ride klondike, unless they are doing this race.
  • 7 0
Wow, no love for Klondike! I love that little area, you gotta earn your turns but theres loads of good rowdy DH sections if you ride it the right way.
  • 1 0
@zorba73: Yeah its not a terrible bike ride, it just gets overlooked for sure.
  • 1 0
What's the full face rule for this series? Varies based on course?
  • 1 0
Dont need one for Klondike bluffs (probably one of the flatter courses on the series), I bet in the rowdy terrain in Angel fire they will all be wearing them.
  • 1 0
 No knee pad Chris,,, crazy!!!
  • 2 1
 Good job guys
