Royal Race jersey

Royal Racing's Race jersey has hints of motocross styling that will have you looking like you should be in a start gate waiting for the beeps. Royal Racing uses a moisture wicking fabric that does well when you are working up a sweat, as well as a soft lycra neck collar that won't feel like it's chafing you after a long day on the bike. Mesh underarm vents help air to pass through the jersey as you are moving and the forearms feature built in soft pads in case the gap between those trees is a bit skinnier than you had thought. The Race jersey is available in three colors: the purple shown here, as well as both red and black options.

bigquotesI liked the the Race jersey's long padded sleeves for the extra bit of protection they offered, but the jersey also stayed cool enough on hot days due to its vented mesh side panels - but I did find that the sleeves were a bit long for an otherwise great fitting jersey. - Jordan Holmes

Royal Racing Race short

Royal Race short

The Race short from Royal Racing have a shorter race inspired cut that won't hinder pedaling at all if you're wearing knee pads, as well as a crotch that won't catch on the saddle in those heated moments when the terrain gets steep. Just like the Royal Racing jersey pictured above, the Race short takes design cues from our two wheeled motorized cousins with its heavy duty two button fly enclosure and a stout zippered fly with protective flap. There are Velcro waist tab adjusters and an elastic waist band that let you dial in the fit, as well as zippered pockets and a coccyx (thats your tailbone) pad incase you loop out while doing wheelies in the parking lot. Inside you'll find a wicking liner to help keep you comfortable when things get hot. The Race short is available in three colors: the purple shown here, as well as both red and black options that match the respective Race jersey.

bigquotesI liked the heavy duty nature of the Race short and it played nice with my knee pads, not something I can say of shorts that use a longer or more relaxed cut - but look elsewhere if your local climate is on the hot side. - Jordan Holmes

Royal Racing Pro glove

The Royal Racing Pro glove matches well with the Race line shown above and is available in the same three color options (purple, red, and black). It strikes a good balance between protection and breathability with rubberized knuckle sections and mesh finger side panels. The palm uses vented Clarino and is quite thin with no padding. Both braking fingers get the silicone treatment and you'll find a soft snot wipe on the thumb as well. The cuff is short, but uses a Velcro tab to adjust.

Royal Pro glove details

  • Pre curved shape
  • Thin Clarino palm
  • Reinforced palm patches
  • Four way stretch material
  • Vented finger side panels
  • TPR detailing
  • Colors: purple (shown), red, black
  • Sizes: XS - XXL
  • MSRP $39.95

I have to say I'm very impressed with the colour scheme. Bold and bright, without being excessivly flashy, noisy, and seizure/vomit inducing like many other (Fox, TLD) companies offering. No clown-suit/pyjamas here, just clean, sharp looking gear. Very nice.

Couldn't make a 1/2 sleeve for the rest of the world that actually associates mountain biking with a warm/ hot and dry summer?
  • 1 0
1/2 sleeve? But then your armour would stick out? Wink
Yeah, I agree there needs to be two jerseys.
BTW the shorts are great, very comfortable and maneuverable.

looks good, a good combination between formality and style, looks comfortable and clean, the only complain i have is with the price tag on these shorts aswell as alot of others out there, 120 bucks for a pair of shorts is pricey especially for a rider that just dropped any where from 2-10g's on a bike. overall great design and im sure a great short, but a little pricey

I have the red kit and this stuff is amazing! Makes you feel like you riding naked when its hot and the shorts are also good enough for the cooler days. The gloves are the most comfortable gloves ive yet too try. You forget your wearing them!

Another expensive kit. I dont see the point wearing all this expensive kit really, nothing wrong with a tee shirt, shorts. Costs loads less and is comfy...

You'd see the benefit of any Ripstop piece of clothing instantly if you've ever been in a crash. This stuff stops you from from being cut all over and instead lets you off with bruises.

Normalshorts are fine, although padded ones are nice. I never ride in a normal Tshirt though, holds onto all your sweat and gets uncomfy. Jerseys are well worth it.

my fully 2010 royal jersey and trousers only cost me 60 quid for the set brand new ,

DONT buy these gloves, they are ripping apart like paper, and expensive comparing to TLD. Tho they were comfy when new but honestly ROYAL- please make them work longer then 2 months! Also have TLD XC in wayyy better condition for 3 years! No more Royal Gloves for me. But Jersey and shorts should be OK.

Too much white! Every year the same shit, only ever slightly different! The kit the Yeti boys are rocking this year, well, now thats sick colors right there! I do like the purple and deffo good on Royal to throw a spanner in the works, most the usual companies have such a limited pallet, next year loose the white and get more original without getting wacky and I may get me a strip!

Dont trip 2010 was a weird year with the change in new ownership and having to get everything dialed in to release a 2010 line. 2011 will be even better!
