Breaking the Silence: San Fernando DH Race

Mar 28, 2016
by Tom Micheal Tan
After the OZRacing 2015 DH year ender series, we found ourselves to be in somewhat of a lull for the early months of 2016. However, that silence was just the calm before the storm, as the anticipation for the upcoming races was slowly mounting, and getting ready to explode. The San Fernando Trail Riders broke that silence, by announcing the opening of their DH track, and the first DH race of the year. The following response was massive, with around 120 riders beckoning to the call of the San Fernando Track, it was crazy.

Everyone is all smiles during the event.

It has been quite a while since the gravity scene had gotten so many attendees. With both familiar and new faces joining in on the occasion, naturally the event was quite a spectacle already. That, plus the support of generous sponsors, a well-made track, highlight finish ramp, a united gravity community, it just filled the event atmosphere with stoke. The best part of it is that we had a lot of photographers offering their services, which means that not only do we get such fine memories of the event, we get to see them in HD print too. For the 2015 season, I have been sitting out of races so I could host events together with OZRacing Lifestyle. Now that a lot more teams are initiating events, I’m glad I could be off the bleachers for a bit and be on the race as a participant.

Congratulations, to the winners, and all participants. I'd like to give a big pat on the back to the organizers and sponsors for the success of the event. Thanks to all the photo contributors who were present that day, Sharry Ricafort, Jovet Lim, Mon Jun Quijano, and more. Personally, I'd like to thank #OZRacingLifestyle for the support, and facilitating for us to race.

JR Barba and Wangyu on the podium again?!? I wonder how they'll do in the WC and EWS circuits...

 Nice post. Who won?

So many cats, and I could not include the pics of the awarding due to poor quality. The awarding took place at night already, with dim lighting. JR Barba of YT Industries took first on the Open Category, followed closely by Dongkey Sanchez of OZRacing Lifestyle, Wendell Barba 3rd, Maximo Villarta of OZRacing 4th, and V12's Jonathan Verga. Results for other cats should be here, www.facebook.com/PXSSS/photos/pcb.969835923085442/969835069752194 Timed by PXSSS Philippine Extreme Sports Scoring System.
