it's gonna be soooo weird when Peaty retires! He's been on the circuit for so long, and he's stil always one of the favourites to win ... You're awesome Peaty!!
Peaty was my favourite biker from the very beginning. I wish he never retires because he shows us how long you can be on top. On top of your skills and on top of the podium. Big up for Peaty
@gromhit: rain is no excuse?? if they were practicing in dry all weekend then suddenly it rains, the track changes, the lines change, suddenly everythings different. if you've been just getting comfortable with a dry track, the rain would mess with your head on a race run.
credit to peaty, oldest guy on the circuit! still loves the sport to death! and has little boys and a wife at home, but travels the world! looking forward to the young peaty's riding?
hmm... looks actualy like mr Troy Lee sold the design with tech data of one of D3 prototypes to some other company. How do U know it is OGK? (I'm terrible when it comes to motorcycles and gear related to them...)
It does say OGK KABUTO on it so that makes me think of OGK And I read somewhere that OGK KABUTO make the helmets and just sell them to TLD and other brands
Many factories do this. For example I have got THH's helmet and it's the same model as 661 Strike. In the box there was even 661 sticker and users manual for 661 Strike helmet. So everything was made in Asia and there's only different name on it.
gumol, it's still a bit a different thing 100$ Strike and 500$ TLD D3. TLD would never allow themselves to sell the rights to their TLD signed helmets to other brands even if they share manufacturing facilities. Minnar helmets looks very alike to D3, elements and "design-touch". Just like THE helmet reminds of D2.
Hence my theory that designers that worked for TLD with D3 made few prototypes. TLD chose the one which became the D3 and one of other prototypes went to some other brand i.e. OGK instead of ending up in "projects archive" folder. Pretty good way of getting back some money from R&D process, or simply sharing the costs from the beginning.
REMEMBER SAM HILL RUN IN CHAMPERY 2007,IT WAS POURING RAIN,HE WAS THE LAST ONE TO GO DOWN. ANDHE STILL GOT 3 PLACE,THE RAIN IS NOT AN EXCUSE,WHEN YOUR FAST YOUR FAST IN ANY WEATHER CONDITIONS,NOT JUST ON DRY RACE COURSES.
