One of the most simple pleasures in mountain biking is just waking up in the morning, gearing up, and heading out to your local trails. For Brendan Fairclough, that means hopping on his Genius 700 and heading out into the Surrey Hills. This is mountain biking.

na it's not like blatant advertising more like clever marketing. If Fairclough changes his gloves-sponsor pinkbike will have it covered in a full-length article. If scott changes it's linkage on the gambler pinkbike has it coverd and if fairclough decides to polish his 40-crowns pb will make sure everyobdy knows..

Brendog's a true Genius, but from the looks of things he's Scott no mates.

the drop @ 1:36 , been building myself to hitting that but don't like the corner straight after , have built something very similar at home but with a straight roll out, much easier. Watching this gives me a better idea how to hit it ! Great edit , we have some good trails here ...

The corner that he rails at Mach 10 !!! Surrey Hills is awesome, and it's finally dry down there.
  • 2 0
Pigman65 it's always dry down here
  • 3 0
Nah, I ride there all the time, Evian is a prime example of not dry. Bronson ,I arrest my case !!

I bet he smiles like that every time he gets on the bike. These grumpy gusses could take a lesson from Brendog.

One of the greatest guys in the sport no question. Always makes me want to go ride.

the drop @1:46 , been building up to that for a while, I have built something very similar at home but without the corner, much easier roll out . Great to see how Brendan nails it , so I can try it next time I 'm there ...

I wouldn't say his line was the beginner option. He's gone out way to rider's right which makes the corner after it harder as you're basically squaring it off. Hitting centre is fine but you usually end up ploughing through some braking bumps on the runout. Slightly to the left is usually smooth and sets you up with an easier line into the corner. Either way though, the corner after isn't difficult unless you're really maching it off the drop.

I thought the same about that drop, I don't think ill make the berm as it looks so loose. His drift into the corner is amazing!

I saw quite a lot of this being filmed on Pitch. He is so sick to watch and gave a few tips whilst i was there Smile

How cool to watch Brendan rip Surrey Hills apart. I'm just stoked knowing someone this skilled calls these (fairly) local trails home, and still finds the time and love to keep riding there. He does seem like a really decent guy too.

Is Pitch the hill to do? I've done Holmbury and Leith loads, but never done Pitch Hill.

Yeah there is quite a lot good trials on pitch. There are a few steep technical trials on pitch but some also long flatter trials as well. And there are great stuff all around pitch in Winterfold and Peaslake including some great jump lines.

Nice one hobbs. Sounds like it needs checking out, Now I just need to find the time to get down that way.

I have the old pull shock (equalizer 3) on my 2013 genius and I've gone though 4 rear shocks. Just heard back from the Scott rep in Washington state. They refuse to do anything about this. I love the fox 36 they put on the front of the bike, just wish the back of the bike could handle one run down the mountain. Extremely disappointed in this company. They lost my business as well as all my friends and family's business. I refuse to recommend a Scott anything to anyone.

I'm curious to know what mud flap he had strapped on in some clips throughout the video.... mud season is upon us here in upstate CNY.

anyone have any suggestions?
  • 2 0
From what I can see I'd say it's a MudHugger, they're very popular over here.
  • 3 0
Anyone else notice the Reverb?? Fox would not be happy.
  • 3 1
Now I know why the trails get warn out over the winter months, thoughs bloody pros skidding around every corner...!
