Whilst in the Alps the boys go on an adventure, getting out of the bike park deep into the Savoie valley. And find some superb singletrack, many switchbacks and miles of fun.

Thunderstorms over the mountains

Couldn't complain about the view from the accommodation, we watched a thunderstorm roll over the mountains on the first evening

Home is beautifull ! Come and ride the trails of Méribel Bikepark, good DH tracks and long natural enduro trails (2000m vertical drop without pedaling only on singletracks!). If you meet someone pickaxing, it's me.

 Sounds awesome

 Double post, apologies

Nice video and pics. Where all did you ride, specifically I'm familiar with the Savoie region as I don't live too far from it, but am always keen to find new trails. A more detailed trip report covering the logistics would be super rad (and much appreciated!).

Yeah m07mmukh knows his stuff!! We were in st foy which is in between les arc and tigne. Much of the video is on axelwound and jacksons which are piste stuff in les arc. Got to say they are some of our fave trails we've ever ridden. In fact we learnt that they were built by a local farmer who was fed up with bikes on the walkers path. We were shown them by a mate who knows the area very well, however we were told they are on trail forks. The other bits of the video are filmed on an off piste trail in tigne. I say off piste but it is sign posted. Go shred them dude their rad!!!!!

@Owenb123: Thanks bud! Really appreciate the insight!

@Chadimac22: Best thing to do is hire a guide. There are some really good guys there and its well worth the money... I've seen so many people that come over here and think they can find all the good stuff by themselves, but it just does not work. There's too many hidden gems to find and as good as Jacksons/Axewound are there's a whole load more on offer.

Plus this year someone has decided to sign Jacksons as a walkers trail from the Vernette's meadow so you'll often meet people coming up it now.

@T1mb0: yeah a guide is a good idea for sure. The dad of one of the lads in the video did a guided ride in savoie about 5 years back said it was amazing. We were lucky to have a mate out their at the time who new his stuff!

@Owenb123: you guys are both right - just got back from a week there. Jacksons into Axe wound is the best trail ever

@Pangtuwi: yeah for sure, pretty physical though we were knackered after it!

You can't do Jacksons into Axewound. Smile
Axewound is just a variation of the first section form the hut and all roads lead in to Jacksons from there.

@T1mb0: yeah, what's the trail back down from arc 2000 to boug after you go up the lobster pot lift from bottom of Jackson?
  • 2 0
@Owenb123: the lobsters only get you up to Vallandry (not Arc2000) and there's several trails that will get you to the valley floor from there.
Not sure where you're thinking sorry

@Owenb123: The trail from Arc200 to BSM would likely be Double Header (my favourite trail in the Malgovert forest), but is the opposite end of Les Arcs from Lobster Pots.

From top of Lobster Pots (Vallandry) down to the valley, there's Duchie's into Sleepy Pirate. Comes out Just above Landry.

Just got back from 2.5 weeks out there, 6th year in a row. So much good riding.

doubleheader doesn't go from 2000 either.... the closest trail to 2000 once you've descended through 1950 and a bit of route 66 is VR5

I guess you meant Savoie Valleys, there's no Valley with that name, Savoie is a mountainous region. And a nice one.

that was some shaky filming, get that guy a gimbal.

I'm 17, spent all my savings on the camera a fair few months back. Your right a gimbal is needed but I'm to poor. Tying to do the best with what we've got.

@NiddMTB: Wow. You should be super chuffed with that. Nice job. Just got back from Les Saisies. Love the area. So different coming from BC but so good!
