Seb Stott, Tom Bradshaw, Alicia Leggett, & Devan Francis Join Pinkbike

Jan 11, 2021
by Brian Park
Seb Stott

We're excited to have a bunch of talented folks joining the Pinkbike editorial team this year.

Seb Stott (above) is coming on board in February as a technical editor in the UK. With a long history of excellent analysis and testing at BikeRadar and MBUK, Seb also has a degree in experimental physics and has a thing for methodical, back-to-back testing.

Tom Bradshaw of Pinkbike Academy fame will be joining Christina Chappetta and Ben Cathro as a Pinkbike presenter. He'll play a large part in our ongoing efforts to create content for riders of all abilities through tutorials, stories, racing, projects, and more.
Tom Bradshaw

bigquotesG'day legends! Looking forward to sharing some big missions, locations, events and some kiwi chat with you soon.Tom Bradshaw

Alicia Leggett
Devan Francis

We've also hired journalist and EWS racer Alicia Leggett as a news writer, and videographer Devan Francis to continue growing our production capabilities.

And finally, we've got a new office & production studio being built out in Squamish that we're excited to start using later this spring. There are also a few more talented folks joining the team in the near future. More on that as soon as the ink is dry!

 Are Seb and Tom Twins??

It means they can shoot videos with a standard GoPro but it comes out 3D.
  • 30 0
You ever notice how you don't see both of them at the same time?
  • 4 0
 They are dopplegangers.
  • 11 0
you can make them out by the numbers of spacers on stem...
  • 4 0
 Oh these are excellent
  • 5 0
i looked twice, then three times, then again......ah yes the comments proved me right
  • 5 0
split at birth. The only way you can tell them apart is by the way they pronounce word "ten". If it's "ten" it's Seb, if it's "tin" it's Tom. Simple

 @TH3MACK: Same here!

Congratulations Alicia! Thanks for an amazing (albeit challenging) 2020 race season.

Given that the Sea Otter 2021 was moved out to October, the challenges persist.....

Seb is one of the best, stoked!

Pretty excited for this. Love Seb's reviews. His last one on forks was amazing and should be the standard on how bike forks are tested and compared.

I remember when I was on the market for the new trsil bike and Seb was praising so much that Pole Evolink 140 that I almost bought it. I didn't because geometry table looked like it was full of typos. Just 4 or 5 years ago that kind of seat or head angles and reach numbers were unheard of. Now I'm sorry I didn't listen to him..
  • 6 0
@pakleni: I did buy the evolink 140 cause of him . Anybody need a frame ? If only he gave a heads up on the lack of customer service from Pole .

Big gain for Pinkbike. His more scientific approach to reviews and product comparison is fantastic. The bike community is lucky to have someone with his experience and education credentials on board. I trust his reviews.
  • 1 0
I wonder if his views on mullets have changed given the bigger adoption these days.
  • 55 1
Sweet Seb is awesome. His chat whit Chris Porter is well worth a listen if you are even remotely interested in geo.

Seb is a terrific acquisition - a really knowledgeable, professional bike journalist. His physics background hardly hurts. Hopefully now he will have the space to get into more long-form pieces as standard (take note Pinkbike). He's best when not forced to clip his knowledge into short daily digests. Enthusiasts will always read on if the content is good, and it always is with Seb. Some of the best right now. Really looking forward to reading his work from the UK!

@HogtownWheelsmith: met Seb a couple of times, far out rider and a really friendly bloke. Happy for him and Pinkbike.

Sweet, I was rooting for Tom in the Pinkbike Academy, he seems genuine and fun to watch

 “G’day Legends!”

Dude must totally watch Simon Whistler on YouTube, of which I am also a fan. Nice pickup, Pinkbike.
  • 1 0
@ninjatarian: Or maybe Matt Jones. He also uses "legends" as a catchphrase.
  • 35 1
Seb is legit, looking forward to his input.
  • 27 0
Getting a job as an influencer after being eliminated in the influencer challenge. Revenge is sweet.
  • 25 0
Did PInkbike just hire two doppelgangers or did they hire the same guy and give him two names so they can get twice the work for the same pay?
  • 2 1
 Comment of the day !
  • 24 2
Seb is probably the most valuable addition to the Pinkbike staff since Paul Aston.
All bike geeks, rejoice, for some mind crunching reviews/tests/analysis are coming your way!
  • 3 2
Yeah I miss Aston cause he was the only fast downhill racer they have ever had reviewing bikes, which provides alot more credibility than all the other guys with average skills. You could tell in his reviews that he really knew which bikes were faster.
  • 24 4
Seb Stott joining pinkbike is massive news! He and Paul Aston are some of the best reviewers/testers out there!
  • 6 2
Too bad Paul isn't around anymore.
  • 20 1
SWEET!! It will be awesome to finally get quality bike reviews from a person who is taller than 5'10"!!
  • 20 1
 Shit yeah Bradshaw!
  • 9 0
Deadset legend. Glad to see him doing well. Chuuurrrrrrrr
  • 4 0
@mrtoodles: for sure a legend. And all I know is of his everesting feat on Fromme.
  • 2 0
If there’s one thing PB needs it’s more parking lot BBQ content. And rainshirts.
  • 2 0
@mrtoodles: Im stoked for him too! Got to be coached by him, awesome bloke.
  • 15 0
Alicia Leggett = awesome addition! Hope to see her at Montana Enduro Series again this year.
  • 17 0
alicia should just cut a podium in half and wear that for shoes, cuz she is always standing on it after the race.
  • 13 0
Hell yeah Bradshaw. Helping count the beans by night, delivering punishing geography chat by day.
  • 5 0
Looking for some quality trainspotting content from Tom.
  • 11 0
Seb is a great reviewer and seemed like a very likeable bloke when I ran into him in La Thuile on his Pole Machine. Seems very objective and his opinion is very well substantiated.
  • 11 0
Great to see Seb Stott on board! His group tests of suspension and tires are one of the most thorough and informative that I have ever seen.
  • 11 0
Seb does some of the best suspension reviews and set-up guides bar none. He'll be a great addition to the Pinkbike team!
  • 9 0
Pretty awesome that the best reviewer (and with an engeneer background) joins pinkbike. But since he is so fact based, it might make the other reviewers seem pretty..., well mediocre, to say the least.
  • 9 0
Oh noo then Seb is not on the Bikeradar podcast anymore, hopefully, he will get included in the Pinkbike podcast instead. But so good to see him on the Pinkbike team.
  • 18 0
We'll definitely have him jump in on the podcast a bunch.
  • 2 0
But luckily PinkBike podcast are longer!

Congrats Alicia! Always rooting for you here at the shop!

Awesome news, Seb’s suspension component reviews in particular are, hands down, the best I’ve read or watched.
  • 8 0
Congrats Alicia! Been awesome watching you push the limit around Missoula!

Fook me nice. Just read seb‘s zeb vs 38 review and was pretty blown away. Normally I always moan about some missing technical detail or data, but not with this test. Amazeballs. Now he just needs to repeat the mezzer test and everybody is happy ;-).
  • 1 0
I just looked up that review after your comment and it is indeed a good comparison of these two forks. Quite detailed.

In regards to that review with the motion instruments data, i wonder how the friction of the fork varied under torsion. That is measurable and was improved both by the lefty fork and by linkage forks. The new ext era is supposed to be improved in that manner as well.

In regards to that...when are the lefty needle bearing patents going to run out? Needle bears on regular forks would be awesome
  • 4 0
The Mezzer fanclub will NEVER be happy.
  • 8 0
Big fan of Seb's reviews and methodology
  • 6 0
Wow, some awesome additions. Wonder if some of the ex Bike staff will be joining as contributing editors?
  • 7 0
Ex-Bike peeps are starting a new venture it seems.
  • 1 4
@withdignityifnotalacrity: which former-PB staff are you referring to?
  • 1 0
@withdignityifnotalacrity: that is why I said contributing and not staff
  • 7 0
Seb is an awesome reviewer. Congrats.
  • 5 0
Stoked to see Seb on board! He sets the benchmark for method. His conclusions are as free of bias as subjective tests can be!
  • 7 1
YO TOM!!!! That's so sick. Time to popularize the sacred moo off!
  • 6 0
This is very cool to see. Well done PB
  • 6 0
Love Seb’s reviews! Good job getting him on Pinkbike!!
  • 6 1

Seb is a fantastic addition to the team. His approach to bike/component reviewing resonates with me the most. Can’t wait to read/watch his first piece as a PB editor.

  • 22 0
Even our unpaid intern is Levy's boss.
  • 1 0
@brianpark: you mean even ppl answering questions for bike check on parking lot are Levy’s boss?
  • 1 0
@brianpark: Wow - hate to be their at the year end Pinkbike staff reviews........
  • 2 0
Sounds like some awesome hires. Above all, I’m very exited to hear PB’s plan to grow and create more content. 2020 was a giant lemon, but PB seems to be making a giant glass of lemonade.
  • 5 0
Seb Stott will be an excellent addition!
  • 4 0
Seb could write a 18 page review about valve stems and I would read all of it 6 times.
  • 5 0
 Stoke for Seb!

  • 4 0
Seb is such a good reviewer, great addition.

  • 1 0
Glad Tom Bradshaw is getting this awesome opportunity after Pink Bike Academy! He was one of the most down to earth dudes on the show. Not to mention the guy rips!
