Sedona Mountain Bike Festival - Day Two

Mar 6, 2018
by redrockrider
Day two of the 2018 Sedona Mountain Bike Festival was one for the books. It was by far the busiest day yet for the festival, now in its fourth year. The opening gate was packed, with a line stretching off into the horizon and all the brands saw a massive flood of excited riders wanting to ride the newest and best bikes on the market.

With rumors of well over 2,000 festival participants, this was definitely a day for the record books!

Can we cancel Interbike and just keep Sedona?
  • + 3
 What's an "Interbike"?
  • + 1
@geephlow: It's just like an intertube, you put it inside your bike frame to keep it from going flat.

Was at the festival and it was an unholy assault of MAMILs (middle aged men in Lycra) with moose knuckles.
  • + 2
Lycra has a strong following in AZ, not sure why but at least 70% of the folks wear Nino Shurter XC getups on enduro bikes around my local trails in Phoenix.
  • + 1
@TPLRacing: Lycra is cooler in the desert maybe? Mountain biking is gonna get unsightly and sweaty once global warming kicks in.

First time in Sedona last month, we rented bikes from Over the Edge Bike Shop and had a blast. This old Northeast boy was blown away by the amazing landscape. Very Cool Place!!

God bless the people who worked at the bike demo and had to answer asinine questions from this hoard of jackasses all weekend. On the bright side, I'm sure you learned more than you ever dreamt possible from all the tough talking internet experts. Mountain bikers are the worst. We deserve all the bad things that happen to us.

Or people like me who mess up their bikes and beg the demo techs for help/parts while they are trying to set up demo bikes.

This was a blast of an event but there was a shortage of shuttles and the number of tickets sold is not limited... way oversold for the number of bikes available. Otherwise amazing event. More please!
