  • 5 0
Ha ya wheel size chumps - the result of this race means nothing. Next you'll be saying Danny won cos his wheel was bigger than Josh's
  • 1 0
When all the riders who were beating everyone on their 26" are still winning on 27.5" only one thing will be proven.
  • 1 0
Laurie was on a 26 trek, so not all classes won on 650b
  • 28 0

 Is that a typo??
4 seconds is a lot!
Why was this not mentioned in the article?
  • 21 0
Guys, it's a typo. Junior times corrected. My apologies.
  • 7 0
Watch out for Josh bryceland this year as well he took the SDA round 1 race quite easily. He was quiet all weekend and looked quite focused maybe this year he is stepping up his game, which would be good to see as he has the talent.
  • 7 0
the british top 10 national results look almost like a top 15 world cup results. holy cow there are a lot of fast brits on the world cups top results sheet these days.
  • 8 0
Yay PEATY is on fire this year
  • 7 1
So Gee crashed and still was only 3 seconds back? Must have been flying.
  • 10 0
Gee crashed in his seeding run but went on to do his race run with an injured knee.
  • 3 0
 Ahh. makes more sense.
  • 16 0
I bet the falcons turned on him.
  • 10 5
I can't believe he won despite being forced to ride those gimmicky 650B wheels by those damn marketers. Wink
  • 3 0
International riders are welcomed at the Shimano BDS, of all ages. The Slovenian National Champion Ziga Pandur was in the house today. Last year 13 out of 14 of the UCI Elite Teams raced one or more BDS.
  • 3 0
I marshalled point 1 and saw Danny Hart clear the lot! The only person to do it all weekend! And doubled straight after it! Talent!
  • 5 0
 Absolutly landed for Manon!!
  • 4 0
Well done to Carpenter and Simmonds.
Nice to see Saracen bikes back on downhill elite podiums Smile
  • 3 0
Hart and Simmonds (incl rest of the Saracen Team) will be running 650b for the rest of the year. Same for GT Atherton Racing.
  • 2 0
just got back from the competion, wicked day, great weather and the uk's best downhill talent. uploading some pics if any one fancy taking a look.
  • 3 0
It's Innes Graham not Graham Innes. We'll done getting on the podium.
  • 2 0
The track was soooo brutal and slippy
  • 2 0
 Big weekend for Madison Saracen
  • 3 1
Did anyone get a video of gee crashing?
  • 1 0
i watched him crash about half way down the run where you have the couple of doubles into the rock garden bit into a left hander where its quiet tight a corner and not burmed and he basically went straight, didnt look to bad though he stayed on the bike

  • 2 0
 ahh i understand
  • 4 0
Gee injured his knee but put in a race run which secured him eighth place.
  • 4 3
I am a dumb American. Do Canadians race in this too?
  • 45 9
"dumb American" is an oxymoron, just say you are American next time and they'll get it Smile
  • 3 2
British Downhill Series... i dont think so
  • 3 0
Nick Beer raced NZ nationals so I don't see why not.
  • 5 1
Jesus, it was a general comment, Smith injured his ankle couple of months back, now gee injured his knee. I was suggesting that maybe neither would be fit for round one of WC. However, gee obviously got a run in. I was obviously too vague
  • 5 0
lol this has been fun. its all good. wanna go for a ride?
  • 3 0
 Haha let's shred!
  • 5 2
Note too josefe. The flag next to your name already notifies everyone of this fact, just type away! :0)
  • 8 1
Actually the flag shows where you live not your nationality.
  • 12 3
"Do Canadians race in this too" - Never go full retard
  • 5 0
Minnaar raced one BDS round last year if I'm not mistaken.
  • 15 0
Actually you mean a tautology. An oxymoron would mean the two words are contradictory.
  • 5 0
Minaar, Blenkinsop, Neethling, Guitierrez, Spagnolo and Thome were some of the international riders who rode in last year's BDS at Fort William.
  • 2 0
well its a bit of travel for an american or canadian
  • 3 0
That's because fort bill was a cheeky practice for the wc round there.... Unless I'm mistaken South Africa is a long way from north Wales!
  • 2 0
don't worry your not mistaken. your right Smile
  • 5 0
It could be either a oxymoron or a tautology. Tautology is self explanatory and it could be oxymoron because american speak alot so are not "dumb" so there is the contradiction. Theres my english lesson for today!
  • 5 0
@danielstutt If you're going to give an English lesson, it's "an oxymoron", American and English should be capitalised and it's "there's" not "theres" since it's a contraction of "there is". Schooled by an Aussie, how embarrassing :-p
  • 1 0
It's entertaining so I'll continue - an oxymoron would be calling a proposition both an oxymoron and a tautology. Tautology means the same, oxymoron means, loosely, two contradictory qualities that can describe the same thing. If being dumb means you are American then the relationship between dumb and American would be a tautological one. If all Americans were in fact smart and an American said "I'm a dumb American" then it would be closer to an oxymoron, but not an oxymoron because dumb couldn't be used to describe Americans in the first place, so there would be no oxymoron, just a contradiction. Ok I'm done nerding out on this.
  • 1 0
And speaking of nerding out, my first statement contradicts the second. It's what happens when you try to get snarky. It would be closer to an oxymoron...please tell me you've stopped reading this by now....
  • 1 0
Well dumb's traditional meaning is similar to mute although generally implying a lack of mental capacity over an inability to vocalise, hence why it could still be an oxymoron. Nowadays however dumb is used more to express the sentiment of 'idiot'; so in the true meaning of the word 'dumb', it would be an oxymoron as I am yet to meet a quiet American!
  • 1 0
I noticed that too, but didn't know the correct term!
  • 1 0
Many apologies for my incompetence. It was a hurried comment.
  • 1 0
No worries Daniel, it's all good.

...and back on topic; hoping Sam Hill, Troy Brosnan and Connor Fearon kick butt this year, go Aussies!
  • 5 4
 Aaaand Pinkbike explodes over 650b
