We use Slack as our workplace communication tool at Pinkbike and we have a #randoms channel that we use to share an assortment of videos and stories from all corners of the cycling world and beyond... We thought a couple of the moments from the past week were too good not to share with a wider audience, so here are some of the highlights.
Bike Wheel Skates
How to make your rollers suitable for rough surface? The answer is simple as usual - install larger wheels on it. Bicycle ones fits perfect so let's try to modify rollers and will check the result!— The Q

This got me thinking, and I puzzled over whether this would take the Dork Crown away from the current Dork King, which is obviously unicyling. But why not reach for something grander? Pogocycling! A pogo stick with a wheel (26 ain't dead?), disc brake, clipped in, maybe take the damper out of a fork for springiness... and launch a brand new adventure sports discipline! It might end up somewhere between trials and parkour.
I've been playing ice and roller hockey for 30yrs now. Those contraptions are a horrible liability waiting to happen. Trust me. What a horribly stupid idea.
According to this bike check from Feb of this year, Jack is using 760mm bars. So narrow-ish, but not extreme. And makes sense for the narrower trails they race in EWS/EDR.
Back when I raced with these guys 750-760 was the popular bar width. Not too tall either cuz that affects width when leaned over. Both things help you hit inside lines around trees.
@CustardCountry: actually yes. i got into longboarding for a few years. quit 4 years ago after breaking ribs. got clocked at 54 mph once at a race. modern longboards are actually extremely stable at speed.
In a recent Sam Pilgrim video he’s at a skate park and there’s a scooter rider just straight sending it. First time ever I saw someone riding a scooter and didn’t immediately think, “That looks dumb af.”
My pops and I once hiked from lukla to everest base camp and the entire time I was dreaming of being on a bike. Amazing place. If you get a chance. Go.

He also said the same length in a bike check last year for Canyon.
But on a maybe too serious note, it is probably not based on mine.
I haven't watched any filth in a couple of years.
Thank God!
