 Yannik is LIVESTREAMING NOW www.facebook.com/yannickgranierifanpage/videos/1366312040052014

Funny how Athletes can do what red bull can't. (First Wyn Masters streaming junior DH in Leogang... now Yannik)

A friend just called me from Les Gets and he told me that the slopestyle is probably going to be cancelled and instead they will do a best trick on the last jump because it's too muddy...

Bulding all this course ... So much $$$$$ for "nothing" ... Frown
  • 39 1
just call it Slopstyle and get on with it!

was it really muddy... or were people throwing a paddy over one feature. see if the real story comes out was looking pretty dry on track.
  • 2 0
@timwestwood: wasn't very wet track was drier than it has been all week
  • 1 0
@Conanangus: yup... was stood by the step up.... looked dry for sure
  • 2 1
@timwestwood: yeh, was at the top of the course and before it was announced that it was cancelled there was several calls for the riders to go to the top of the course I think the riders had something to do with it
  • 7 0
I guess its the double crown of crankworx now
  • 13 0
@timwestwood: I was able to walk the course after the best trick challenge and it was absolutely fine. All jumps were wooden ramps so no issues there and all the landings had been covered by tarps to avoid the rain damaging them. None of the course jumps were in a worse state than the final jump they ran the contest on. The info I was able to gather by asking a few bike wrenches from different teams is that: A Due to the weather, training time was limited and it was hard to get dialed, B Some riders disliked the course and were finding it hard to generate enough speed to barely clear the jumps making it hard for them to launch tricks except on the last jump that everybody liked. Combination of both meant this would be a risky contest so they limited the contest to the jump everyone liked and could boost on.

Yannick graniery has a better angle on his facebook too
  • 8 1
Brett rogatkin? Who is this rider
  • 2 1
 he sounds awesome!!
  • 5 0
Way to blow it with the live feed, they skipped out on half the riding that went down. Double flip tuck?!?? Flip triple bar and almost flip quad?? hahahah what a JOKE!!!
  • 6 1
Why cancel an event like that when they can simply do it another day... I can't comprehend
  • 2 3
Course must not have been maintained or looked after during the rain. It isn't even raining at the moment, so the course must be torn to shreds.
  • 3 1
@nutelladonut: the course is absolutely fine
  • 1 1
@Conanangus: bad course conditions and lack of practice is the reason... so obviously some of the athletes were not happy about the course conditions.
  • 4 0
that's sad, but you can't do much against mother nature. I am glad that Crankworx is taking care of the riders, props to them.
  • 6 1
It's been pushed back 30 mins
  • 2 0
Now a 15 minute delay...is that good news if it's not another 30 minute delay? ????
  • 70 1
@zblakey8: Next delay might be 7.5 minutes. Then 3.75 minutes. Then 1.875 minutes. Slowly, the delay will tend towards zero minutes, but never actually reach zero as the time converges into a infinitesimal value. The delay will then be permanent, and the event will never run again.
  • 2 0
 @Joebro1995:

Been delayed again till 11:00 uk time
  • 3 0
@Joebro1995: it's 4am here, looks like I'll just catch the next diamond event lol
  • 5 0
@wellbastardfast: Damn. I guess the weather gods are telling me I should study for my calculus exam, instead of staring at a timer.
  • 8 1
@Joebro1995: not true, its geometric series which is convergent and has finite sum. it would actualy take 26 minutes if first delay is 15 min.
  • 2 0
i wish they would set a longer time push back rather than loads of little ones. 15 mins i'm like. 'may as well wait here' then it does another 15 mins. 'ffs i could have been doing something else.
  • 3 1
@Joebro1995: corection it would take 30 min.
  • 3 2
 It's been cancelled.
  • 3 0
 @DnBjackob: Actually
∞ n
∑ (30)(1/2)
n=0

converges to a/(1-r)
30/(1/2)=60. The delays will take 1 hour total Big Grin
  • 1 0
@jts429: Big Grin yep, but your first delay is 30 min. , mine is 15.
  • 6 0
 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
  • 2 1
feel so sorry for the kid at 27:40 with the pink helmet that missed 2 hands and another one... please give that kid the best crowd award. maybe think about all those kids cant even do that. think about it, our kids deserve the same as their kids so stop making war. i love ride bikes when i see their stoke, this makes me realise...

  • 2 0
Bugger...if we are bummed, how must the riders feel
  • 1 3
i fucking hate crankworks. it went from burly riders to pre madonna's. they make it so safe for the riders now that its not even exciting to watch. hopefully there will be a new contest that has hardcore roots once again. oh yeah loose fest. stop giving these mainstream riders money,
  • 1 0
where is the run of TORQUATO TESTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!???????????????????????????????????????????? WHYYYY NOT HERE?????!!!
  • 2 0
Is there a start list with the guys competing anywhere?
  • 2 0
 @aldago: Sweet! thanks
  • 4 4
semenuk is there!!!!!! Wish he sends the whip to whip
  • 3 1
@RedBurn: Its stylish because it was so unexpected... I highly doubt it would score well in a slopestyle contest though
  • 2 1
@RedBurn: maybe in a victory run, but i don't see it scoring high enough in a normal run
  • 3 3
Guys, could come in a place where normally a "simple" tailwhip would come... Of the whale tail for example !!
  • 2 1
it's too much of a hard trick compared to how much it would score. he will just do safe tricks that he knows will score good. he doesn't know how much the 'whip to tailwhip' scores. He is smart when it comes to competitions.
  • 2 0
can't wait to get the full experience...

  • 2 5
BUMMER. Move it back next year to Les Deux Alpes.
  • 4 1
move it to snow summit, calif
  • 2 1
the problem was the weather not the place
  • 7 0
@Bear74: but its a place with a history of being super wet and rainy this time of year, I believe it was even stated in a article earlier this week on here, so it kinda is the place in a way.
  • 1 1
 Censored
  • 4 0
 @Bear74: the problem is .....................

wake up. crankworx has bombed 4 years in a row now in france.

bad organization, poor execution, little to no crowds, shall i continue?..............

good luck next year i guess.

time to move it to bigbear/snow summit.

weather and demographics are spot on for snow summit. imagine the crowds/vendors and party scene in so cal............
  • 1 0
Wow, I get downvoted for making a suggestion. The place may not be the problem, it has awesome tracks alright but the weather ruins it all. I agree with @stacykohut , move it somewhere where it is better and more crowds.
  • 1 0
@fatfingur: tough and fickle crowd these forums!
