New Flex Air gear from Fox brings motocross revolution to MTB.
The MTB team at Fox is excited to introduce the new Flexair gear collection. Flexair uses Fox Racing’s proven Trudri (c) and Trumotion (c) fabrics to create racewear that is lighter, more comfortable, more durable and offers more proven performance than any other product on the market.
Flexair earned its stripes on the Supercross track, with 2015 champion Ryan Dungey running the gear, and revolutionizing motocross kits in the process. The Fox R&D team then proved Flex Air’s value for downhill mountain biking by testing the gear throughout the 2015 UCI World Cup Downhill season with Fox MTB athletes, including champions Josh Bryceland and Steve Smith.
“Maintaining our position as the world’s number one brand in motocross means we’re constantly innovating,” said Mike Redding, Director of MTB Marketing at Fox, “and the gear we’re designing for the champions of the track gives us the opportunity to share cutting edge technology with mountain athletes.”
Flexair will be available in downhill jerseys and shorts. The collection launches March 1st at Fox dealers and online.

Seriously!
I will be in Oahu next week and really can't stand watching a video at work like this right now.
But if anyone knows where this is.. let me know!
The western side of the Big Island is quite dry. I was thinking it could have been in the Kona district, but the mountains definitely say Maui. Apparently Maui has a decent mtb scene.
Yeah, its Maui... the mtb scene could be awesome there! BUT its all private land... so ride at your own risk... word is if you get caught your bike goes in jail til you leave the island... haha
i live on maui, these trails don't look like they're on maui. looks more like oahu
it USED to be an insanely cool scene here. then the state found our gems, took it all away and gave us a mickey-mouse training-wheel bogus safety-trail fit for little kiddys that never want to learn what a flowy trail is. after 3 years of groveling to a brainless lazy govt agent that thinks that jumps are for "extremists", and there are more miles of nanny-state-approved pure beginner terrain than anything. i wouldn't pay to bring my bike here, unless you are a XC lover or roadie, or are overwhelmed by scenery alone and dont want to ride anything thrilling or challenging
Does Crater Cycles still run the shuttle off the top of the volcano that they decided to cancel on me the day of...because they didn't feel like going and gave me my deposit back? If so...yes, Maui riding sucks.
@bizutch You may be happy that ride was cancelled.. the Tour groups that shuttle you to the top of Haleakala have tourists ride back down the road on these weird modified cruiser/bmx bikes with super duty cruiser brakes ! 10,000 Vertical of descending on a heavily trafficked road !
Otherwise, there is some really incredible riding down the side of the volcano, although a lot of it is illegal / crossing private property. I've ridden it a few times, it is truly incredible and ends on Kanaio beach..10,000 to sea level on the most varied terrain you could ever imagine.. lots of potential !
the 1st owner of Crater was a great guy that did the most for the free ride scene of all the shops. don't turn one day one guy into "maui riding sucks because of crater cycles", thats not true. as far as the available trails go, we've seen better much days where freeride is concerned. the matrix won for now. the matrix hates fun.
I was there last year and looked into renting a proper full suspension mtb to descend down Haleakela's trails. I think it was Krank Cycles: www.krankmaui.com/shop
I would think the Big Island has the most riding areas just based on land size, but I could be wrong. I've ridden a little in Oahu and on the Big Island but that was 13-14 years ago.
@WayneParsons Big Island trails are indeed hard to come by - people have some cool stuff on private land, and there's one or two main trails that people have hit for years, but mostly what I remember is the marathon/XC style of riding and a lot of sugar cane access roads. All that uphill pedaling in the heat and humidity makes it tough.
Some guys I know poached the Volcanoes National Park a couple years back when the US Gov't couldn't get out of its own way, and failed to pass a viable budget on time. So the parks were closed and the hard core mtb'ers rode the Volcano at night. Super bummed I missed that!
@reallybigmantis I'm bitter that I lost a day of my dream vacation watching my jetlagged wife and daughters sleep their first day off in a shady hotel room after planning and paying for a dream ride like @forallhesgot described. @Johnp put me onto the DH ride and in touch with the shop and I dreamed about it for a long time. That's on me though. That's my little burden to bear.
Better days to come, just gotta have faith and build on our own cuz. Revival of jah fittest.
Really Big, hit me up and we get some more goods going again
cant help feeling sorry for you bizutch,
Yup, Hawaii is not friendly to dumb-asses (Rider656) so go somewhere else. But for those that have respect for new places, no matter where you go, the best thing is to always hook up with the local riders of that region. It will always be a different experience rather than try to figure it out on your own...
Haha @HankBizzle that was me asking him where it was shortly after asking on here... Rad. Maui is amazing, I would live there if the mountain biking scene was better. That or learn to surf
I just just in Oahu mountain biking, you can rent a bike from turtle Bay on the north shore and ride in pupukea, lots of singletrack there. Or rent a bike from the bike shop in Honolulu and go up St Louis Heights to wa'ahila Ridge, it's an old world Cup downhill track, super fun...just make sure it's not wet haha the clay dirt there is slippery!!!
Great riding, cool gear, fun looking trip! I liked that they didn't make us sit through a minute of lifestyle shots before getting to the riding. Way better just interspersed like this, you get jah vibe!
LOL, you guys are all so witty! Honest question though, I called TBG, Kona's Canadian head office and asked about the late release of the Operator 27.5 and they stated they were working out issues (I believe with chainstay or rear of bike) and yet this kid is making video after video riding it. I need a bike for spring cuz I'm not waiting until August to get one and it needs to be 650b! :-0
"HU O (glottal stop) KU SU" in katakana, if anyone is wondering. There's not really a good way to spell it. Looks cool though, especially the yellow lid...with the Gojira/manga/macross/anime on cheap newsprint look.
Looks like the Waihee ridge trail. Didn't know it was possible to ride mtn bikes on it though. I've hiked it many times.
Makawao forest on Maui has some fun trails, and the skyline trail from the top of the volcano is great for the views and a good way to get away from everyone. I've ridden it twice and never seen any other riders on it.
www.krankmaui.com is the place to rent a decent bike from while there.

Krank should be the go to mtb shop nowdays,
does any other shop have the owners dh you could rent? I don't think so.
