Social Round Up: First Hits at DarkFest 2022

Apr 11, 2022
by Alicia Leggett
The riders have arrived and have put tires to the dirt at DarkFest 2022 on what seems like an even bigger course than ever. This year, too, is the first time DarkFest has officially invited women, with Chelsea Kimball, Hannah Bergemann, Vero Sandler, Robin Goomes, and Casey Brown all out representing for the ladies. The guys, of course, are also sending it, with some big tricks and mindblowing style already showing up.

 Too mainstream. How dare these sellouts give their sport exposure.

 I know there's a story here but I missed it. What's the summary?

 @TommyNunchuck: www.pinkbike.com/news/the-fest-series-parts-ways-with-darkfest.html (the statement at the bottom given by the fest series)

 @Bbmi171: Thanks for linking that, the Fest Series written announcement has aged like a fart in a bottle....

 @TommyNunchuck: The Fest boys started crying when Sam Ren and the boys made DarkFest bigger and better and documented the whole shenanigans on the World Wide Web for all of us biking enthusiasts to enjoy!!

However this year it looks like it’s gonna be the absolute dogs! So I don’t know who will fly farthest the Dark festers or the ‘other’ fest boys dummies!

 @McArdle: Thanks all. I looked it up and the Fest crew, whoever they are, come off as a bunch of elitist tossers. Calling out Sam is bad craic.

 I'm confused I thought this was supposed to be a secret event.

 @coadymacmillan: Fest Series joke. Darkfest has been 'removed from the official series'. Luckily doesn't seem they've had the balls (or audacity?) to pursue legal means to not allow them to use the word... fest. I'm knocking on wood after saying that by the way

 @lepigpen: Don't give them ideas !! :-0

 @Aksel31: Guess we'll have to wait for their next ultra core press release to find out what true free riders think about things.

Fest Series Press Release: We rode our bikes today. Here's a single photo and clip. If you weren't there you weren't core. Sorry not sorry.

 If only the had some more social media followers or YouTube views for revenue, as I think you need $$$ for that type of lawsuit. And seeing they don’t have a frame sponsor or money for soap, I presume that won’t be happening. . @lepigpen:

 Glad I didn't have to be the one to break the seal on this comment... What is the scientific correlation between being absolute senders and going out of your way to use the worst music? I need to know if Reed would ever ride a line with that in his air pods for real...
