We've seen some
grainy Instagram screenshots, but Crankworx Rotorua was the first time the new Canyon Sender was raced and we saw a glimpse of it between the tape. Canyon riders Kaos Seagrave and Mark Wallace were very tight-lipped on the bike but we were able to get some clear snaps of the new Canyon bike in yesterday's race.
The Sender platform was first released in 2016 and downhill has changed a lot in the four years since then. We've previously said the current Sender platform is in need of an update as it only runs 27.5" wheels as stock and still uses imperial standards on its shocks. We got a brief but good look at the new Sender at Rotorua and it looks to have had a full overhaul.
The shock is now mounted to the downtube which allows material to be taken from the top tube for a slimmer profile around the seat tube. The MX link looks to have also received an update, with the top link extended down past the shock mount and connecting to a much smaller link tucked away above the bottom bracket. To top things off the new bike runs on 29" wheels and the rear swing arm looks to now be carbon.
Put side by side, the difference between the current (left) and new Sender (right) becomes clear with a longer top link and a new mount for the shock.
Mark Wallace never had a chance to let his new bike shine at Rotorua after suffering a flat tire.
As the first round of the World Cup approaches we're hoping to get a detailed look soon.

Canyon Sender?
She went pretty far.
....I’ll get my coat
No misoginy or racism there :
Dubod22 is from hong kong, and he might got a a friend called Yun, whose might be married with a transgender man (or woman) ! So simple !
How’s that one?
Lighten up Francis!
Your snowflake is melting all over your virtue signaling merit badge....
And the secondary 4-bar linkage driven the shock ratio has been implemented by Knolly first (4by4), years ago.

*Like f*ck I will, my other passport's British.
So many questions instantly on this new bike and where was Troy, heard in one interview that he was gonna be there?
Mark did get a change to showcase what the bike is capable of... capable of puncturing in race conditions.
If you could ride as fast as you can flame you would be world beaters haha.
Lets add that are the photos the same rider... first photo is 511/Schawalbe/Saint cranks and the 2nd 471/Maxxis/SRAM cranks... blah blah blah blah
He will get it back for sure so gonna bask in my glory until he does.
The Strava rule is now... "gopro or it never happened" (certain rippers up here dont have a gopro haha)
This track is like the bottom of Andorra, quite steep, bit more fun than Andorra though.
Who is this Peat guy you speak of... best not say that too loud in case he turns up to FB BDS this year and I have to race against him in Vets (If I enter, might retired undefeated as a Vet there), would be fun though.
You can also ride most famous flow trail in Poland knowing one of the best Polish DHillers (who cannot match to world DHillers) cleared a double NOBODY can dream of clearing. You look at it and go No f*cking way, because when you try yourself you don’t even make it with your front wheel. Yet he evidently does it on a video. And I beat his Strava time on that trail. So what... a trail nearby he fkd me up by a minute. The fastest local bloke on it beat him. Quick conclusion: that fast dude didn’t even tryZ
Greg pedal raced me... I mean, Greg rode away from me like I was stood still.
He did a gopro down a local behind me last year, I know my flat out is his cruising, which I really enjoy, its pure banter from behind me whilst I was giving it full beans.
I did a Gorpro down FB with George last year at around 5 flat pace for George, he left me though 1 corner up top, I know I was poor on that corner and I was for sure. The next level is so much power off the line and out of corners and commitment, as you say to scary lines that they make look easy. Even more impressive at the likes of a pump track where they double insane features.
Its also how quickly the fast guys are up to speed on everything that is so impressive along with the difference between practice pace and race pace. Thats the mental game to be 100% focused and not relax into 85% pace during a race.
