SRAM - Red Bull Rampage 2017 Fantasy Contest Winner

SRAM Rampage Fantasy.

This year's Red Bull Rampage didn't disappoint, with every competitor throwing down incredible runs from top to bottom. Mother Nature decided to play along, too, and for once the desert winds weren't a factor in deciding the champion. Over 2,000 entries were submitted for the Fantasy Contest, but no one managed to correctly guess the top three. It came down to a random drawing between the users with the correct top two riders, and @RedHeadFool will be receiving a brand new SRAM GX Eagle drivetrain for his efforts.

bigquotesIt is awesome to win such a cool prize, from a cool company, for trying to predict the winners of an incredible event. RedHeadFool

What was needed to enter?

Readers simply had to pick their top three in finishing order. Leave their 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in the comments section of the article, and then the people with the correct answers were entered into a random prize draw.

Red Bull Rampage 2017 Results

There's never any shortage of controversy when it comes to judged mountain bike competitions, especially a high profile event like Red Bull Rampage, but when all was said and done it was Kurt Sorge who snatched his third Rampage title, followed by Cam Zink and Ethan Nell.

The Prize

A SRAM GX Eagle drivetrain was up for grabs for the person who correctly guessed the top three finishers.

About SRAM GX Eagle:

This is the range of Eagle. The range to reach. To realize. A range beyond limitation or complexity. Beyond what’s been done before. A range where fearless dedication meets relentless engineering. Where silent precision meets trouble-free reliability. Where simplicity matches strength.

A whole new system for whole new horizons. The range to realize. This is GX Eagle

Congratulations to RedHeadFool!

@endlessblockades: no thats just what happens when your company can pay out the ass for good riders. Those guys could have podiumed on any brand!!

Sick congrats you RedHeadFool! That’s gonna be a sweet upgrade on your Jeffsy.

Apart from the fact his Jeffsy already has better Raceface cranks and Sram X1 gears which are better than GX... i know it's eagle so i guess the added gear range will make it a worthwhile upgrade but a shame Sram cheaped out by not making it a higher spec eagle groupset. still congrats on the win, i don't think anyone was guessing nell.

@maglor: SRAM cheaped out on a giveaway? GTFO. Besides, GX eagle is their new groupo, of course they're going to push it.
  • 1 0
@rockabass05: I know its a giveaway that they don't have to do but at the cost they pay for the groupset it doesn't make much difference to them and ofc that's being cheap, its like tipping, you don't have to do it (i know america is slightly different on that though) but its giving them money you don't have to but if its not much you'll still get called cheap.

Damn, I guessed Zink / Nell / Semenuk, had the order right and everything, if Sorge hadn't been such a beast I could have had it Smile

Congratulations RedHeadFool, I'm waiting on tenterhooks to hear when the GX Eagle drivetrain I won for the SRAM DH world cup comp will be sent out. The gear range should be awesome for the Scottish trails I ride. Hoping for it soon as i have a new frame to build up and this is the last part for it.

Can't believe they've not sent that out yet dude, that competition was months ago??!

 @Robo88:
I was told there would be a delay as my prize was going to be sent from the second shipment as there had be a huge number of pre-orders and the first batch was sold out. Pink Bike were totally honest and upfront with this and I can completely understand SRAM not wanting to let customers down

Fingers crossed I get it soon.

I had Sorge and Zink in the correct order but Semenuk as no. 1. i would never have gone with Nell anyway.
