just when you think your getting faster, you watch a vid like that and realise how slow you really are, lol

And how much older peaty is, he still kills it. legend.

Not to mention they're just flowing down the track, not even pedalling much on the flats... THOSE JERKS

Shawn- magnets but really it is insane how well they're able to hold their speed while they're just practicing... it's wild what going at a normal pace is like for them.

Gotta love the sound Big Grin

Btw: anyone who has ever tried to follow his mate at high speed that close, can guess how skilled Peaty is. Easily faster than Vasquez, otherwise it's impossible to follow with that little gap! Awesome footage, keep it up, Peaty!

 sub 2 minute race??

Peaty did second place with 1:47 and Bernat Guardia won with 1:46. So he slowed down 10secs the time of this vid!! xD

That track looks awesome, the uphill bits didn't seem to slow them down much which is perfect. Too many trails use uphill segments for various reason but always kill the flow. This looks like a fun little track, be great to session.

Fucking hell some of those gaps thru the trees had me tucking my elbows in...
  • 30 5
 what gaps ??
  • 4 2
Think he means the narrow clearance between the trees, not gap like a jump.
  • 5 1
Yeah it looked very 'thread the needle ' at points ,many handle bar clippers.

What i like most about these pov vids is that they actually show how hard a rider works to go fast, note the commitment, the pump and the body language needed to squeeze as much speed as possible. I know this was a practice run but they were still fast!

I think what impresses me most about these POVs is watching how many tight sections they get through at those high speeds. Their handlebars must be getting within millimeters of those trees and boundary posts. If that was me out there, I would have likely gone OTB a few times with my bars clipping those obstacles. It's just amazing how accurate and precise these guys/gals are high speeds on that type of terrain. Must, practice, more!

Emmmm...Yeah, soooo that music is a Huapango...mexican music...just saying, not really music to be heard of in Catalunya man....even less on a dh course.

xc track my arse, i'd love to see any of u ride it at anywhere near that speed, always looks a lot easier on video than it really is, bit like how easy it is to post on PB how easy it is and how good u r
  • 5 2
the track only have a 130m of negative elevation. it's a really fisical race, and the times are tight, if we say that is a XC track it's because it was a xc track, i have rode it.. the track it's super easy, but it's really dificult to make a good time.

Is there a bike park here? I am coming to the alps in June and might drive down to Barcelona if there is good riding.
Advice welcome

Started getting a bit gnarly towards the bottom.

 Warp speed! That looked fun!

So you're an aspiring DH racer and Peaty says, "go ahead mate, I'll follow you... and I'll video while we're at it..." Pressure!

I imagine Vasquez was doing all he could (except in the flats) and Peaty was just hanging on his wheel, humming a tune on full cruise control mode.

David Vazquez is indeed an ex-pro racer with several WC wins and podiums a few years back... the man is a legend, Now does UCI commissioner stuff for the WC circuit. Very impressive to see those not-so-young men roosting that track like it's nothing. And Peaty is just pure awesomeness. Looking forward to that movie about him!

I wonder if that is how a NASCAR driver feels on a day to day basis..... "I'm sorry I didnt mean to tailgate you, im just so used to going way faster."
  • 1 0
first part looks like a xc track!!
  • 1 0
Downhill course? Looked more like a flow course.
  • 1 0
they should check their elbows for tree bark!

Looks like a XC Track for me
  • 7 4
I can confirm you that is a XC track, flat, flat, flat
  • 4 1
 +1 ultra flat track
  • 2 1
that shit course makes crank it up (whistler) look like a suicide run. that isn't even a technical XC course. it's a fast course b/c it's basically something a birdwatcher would walk down.
  • 1 0
LOLOLOL!!!!! There was practically no gnar to speak of.
  • 1 0
"easy to get down but hard to get down fast" it's still a race... the tight times make it interesting
  • 5 0
Yes yes, we know everyone here on pinkbike is so awesome that every track is too flat with not enough gnar, and gaps and roots and pits of dome. But if you stop posing, then you'd probably agree with me and Bdusty1 that track looked fun as hell.
  • 5 0
Wait, you want to have FUN on a bike? That goes against all Pinkbike regulations!
  • 1 0
 dam!
  • 2 2
fuck spain, toros , sangria and su puta mierda!!!!
  • 4 7
Sant Andreu de la Barca is CATALONIA not spain
  • 3 3
 yea yea, Real Madrid FTW!
  • 4 2
Cataluña is a region, Spain is the country. Leave the politics outside, this is about biking you moron.
  • 3 3
Catalonia is not a simple region. That's why they're going to leave spain the next 9th of november a country that has tried to eliminate our culture and our own language. Yeah PB is about mountain biking but you know Sant Andreu de la Barca is Catalonia and it is surely not spain. ||*||

I think FC Barcelona should not be allowed to play in Spanish League then. A poor team anyways
  • 2 0
As a barca fan I feel the need to highlight waki's need to start a pb "raceway" as very poor show.
  • 1 0
 Should have been "racewar"
Thanks iphone
  • 1 1
I have been studying with people from Barcelona and Milano I know how touchy those subjects can be. The Reds FTW!

VETE A MACHACÁRTELA POR AHÍ, PRINGAO.
AQUÍ hablamos de bicis. A ver si te enteras (y os enteráis) de una puta vez.
  • 3 1
And Catalonia is Spain, mira un mapa y aprende algo de cultura antes de quedar como un ignorante en Pinkbike. The track is flat, ok, but is very difficult to ride fast...about 2 min. the times are very tight
  • 1 1
Eso pedazo de subnormal, metete en un puto partido de independenpoyas si es lo que te gusta, y deja de decir soplapoyeces, mira tu DNI a ver de donde eres VIVA ESPAÑA, and please talk about mtb ;D
