The 2017 Ard Rock Enduro was epic! This was the third year the Steve Peat Syndicate enduro team were competing, with high expectations of another amazing race we weren't disappointed. With six timed stages over a 45km route, this was a big day out on the bike, but with plenty of banter with teammates and other ideas, it wasn't long before we were on the transition to the final stage. Unlike other races, this one is much more relaxed and feels like a festival with some bike racing thrown in.

The trails are off the chart good, a bit of all types of terrain, entering the woods on the bottom of the first stage it feels like your in the EWS. Crowd going wild!

A great weekend. My only regret is that couldn't ride the course the way I wanted to through injury, rode cautiously all the way round. Nontheless the set up is amazing, credit to all the volunteers, organisers the locals for not just putting up with intrusion from 100s of mtbrs, but being so welcoming. Can't wait to try again next year. Awesome edit, top result.

This years Rock was nothing shy of brilliant , stage 5 being a nice way to break up the transition between last years 4 and 5, and even though most of the stages are all roll able many were WELL out of their depths, please im no elitist snob but a 80mm xc hardtail with no dropper is only going to get said lycra clad rider in a bit of bother in some of the chutes ,probably why the drop off on stage one was closed forcing a 90 second re route down the blue trail, while they patched the wounds of the silly out of his depth sod back up. Every rider a bore down on moved over and I got a clean run on every stage with more banter than I could ever have hoped for, a fantastic vibe all across the board, snagged a cap for my lad too and still hunting for pics on roots and rain. I will be up at 6am on the booking day again to sort next years out and even trying to figure out a way to do the moor in September without getting moaned at by the long haired boss at home. Cracking weekend and not a puncture in sight !

ArdRock has been sold to many as "The Bike Race" to do in the UK. In reality there are sections that are far beyond many riders. Stage 1 is tough enough with it's sketchy rocks and the slippery mud in the bottom sections that spits you over roots and rocks. But Stage 3 could easily be a killer for the unwary. You'll be tired from the climb, then sent into some slimy wet rocks down almost verticle chutes. I can understand why people might drop out.
Add to that there is 40 odd km of tough riding that really tests your fitness
