Video: Andrew Young

bigquotesI really enjoyed being a part of the Stevie Smith Memorial race. It brought back a lot of memories of the time Steve and I spent at Mt Washington... this was where it all started for him! To be able to share, a part of Steve, with the young and upcoming riders was very therapeutic. Looking into the eyes of these young boys, with their enthusiasm and awe at being able to touch his medals and jerseys, made me see that I do need to keep Steve's memory alive so he can continue to inspire young riders. I hope to see even more racers out in 2018 to make this event a must-attend for Stevie's fans old and new!Tianna Smith

bigquotesMount Washington was honored to host the first ever Stevie Smith memorial race. The Monster Mile is one of the most classic DH tracks in western Canada and it was where Stevie trained and raced regularly early on in his career. DH Racing is a part of the history at Mt Washington, so to be able to host a BC cup in his name after a three-year hiatus from mountain bike operations is truly a privilege for the resort. Big thanks to our resort team for their countless hours into making this event a success. We look forward to partnering on this event into the future to honour and remember the best DH racer Canada has produced.Mike Manara – Mount Washington Alpine Resort

bigquotesIt has been an honor to work with the Steve Smith Memorial fund and Dunbar Cycles to help support the DH racing community. Momentum was tasked with creating a #longlivechainsaw watch which helped raise $3,700 for the event, these watches were shipped all over North America. We hope that this piece will act as a badge of honor for racers, and we are excited to continue our support of the DH racing community and Steve Smith Memorial Fund going into the future.Chayse Spence – Momentum Watches

bigquotesWith endūr's commitment to the Steve Smith Legacy Foundation through the development and sales of Steve Smith, #longlivechainsaw and BC Cup Memorial Socks, we have raised and donated over $15,000. We look forward to continuing our partnership with the foundation and raising even more funds in 2018.Rob Fraser – Endur Apparel Ltd.

I'm disappointed that PB has this placed 5 articles down from the main because it hasn't been here all day and all of a sudden, here it is, 5 articles down... 'sup with that?

Great video, love that Young captured the 4 degree blowing cloudy top of the start of the race. Video showed how hard it was to see, blurry blowing wind. Also was in right spot to show spills and thrills of this very slick exiting challenging course. Long live chainsaw!

Wow, never actually bothered to post here but the editing of this video demands it. What a great way of honoring the background of this race by letting the music and the footage take over like that. No words would make it any better.

Great job Andrew Young! What a tough course it was in the rain. The chainsaws revving at the side of the course we're awesome and I'm glad I could be there to race, honour and remember Stevie along with his mom and everyone else. This one was very special.
