Richie Rude popping 180s in the background of Ravanels winning interview: priceless

i was going to write if anyone's noticed it Big Grin , for the ones who didn't: look at rude showing off at 19:55 Wink

I wouldn't have that much energy after the 4 days he went through. It just shows how much work goes in to the winter for these athletes!
  • 4 0
 That 180 was amazing
  • 1 0
 Yeah, no helmet is needed

Awww yeah, time to crank up that HD for a awesome 20 mins... Love the coverage you're providing guys Smile

Great video for a great race!

Loved seeing Richie messing around at the end during Cecil's interview. So much talent!

Nice, keep up the good work stepping up the EWS video coverage PB Smile

Yeah, what a race. Put to bed a lot of peoples complaints about enduro. Fresh cut loose rowdy tracks, strictly limited practice time, no shuttling what so ever. Proper beastly race, putting the endurance in Enduro, deffo not DH light. Can't imagine trying to ride those tracks with the amount of pedalling in 2 days that these guys did, monsters the lot of them.
  • 3 0
 Plus 2 practice days (= ~100km pedalled + 3250mt positive vertical gap)

Is there any question that this is the greatest genre of the greatest sport on earth? Great video as always. Wish I could attend one of these.

They are going to Aspen on July 30th. If Aspen rentals weren't so crazy expensive I would go and watch. Also if I'm driving that far I want to get my ride on.
  • 6 0
I have gone to a few of them and am not a racer...but it's pretty fun to watch. I usually do my own ride and plan it so my chosen trails are close to the tracks so I can quickly step over to the race action, watch the pros come through, cheer for. Few amateurs that are riding their heart out befor I get back on my own rig pumped to ride a bit more....usually manage to get to at least half of the stages that way...just got to remember that when you jump on your own rig to ride within your own limits not Tracey Mosley's Wink

THIS IS AMAZING! almost as if I had been there watching everything that happened

I was there enjoying every minute (although hardly finishing the liaisons) but this is great-top-world-class-coverage, Pinkbike you're spoiling us!! thank youuuu

How tall is Cunynghame? He's a solid head taller than all the guys and one girl barely came past his waist. Also props for an interview with beer in hand and the overall wrap-up coverage was solid!
  • 5 1
I really wish they would stop going on about ACC and Moseley not being around for the women's categories. You don't hear them bantering on and on about people like Barel not being there in the men's competition. Who shows up shows up. It's where you stand amongst the competition. Heck of a video though. This is the only way to truly display enduro as a format. It's impossible to do that live. Cheers!

It's been a long winter waiting for the EWS to get underway again. Really enjoyed this coverage of the race. Nice :-) - and looking forward to the rest of the series. (But RC, please learn to pronounce the French riders' names properly - you've had two decades to learn to say Vouilloz correctly......).
  • 2 0
Are you getting the RC of PinkBike to the RC of EWS mixed up? RC of PinkBike has been around for 2 decades and during the Vouilloz era. However the RC of EWS is the same that won DH World Champs as a Junior in 2006, when Vouilloz was just coming out of retirement to start racing DH again.
Still, no excuses for mispronouncing the name of a legend.
  • 2 0
Err no he's not. RC of PB = Richard Cunningham. RC of EWS = Richard Cunynghame. RC who was 2006 Junior World Champ = Ruaridh Cunningham.
  • 1 0
@exocet: Ruaridh Cunningham won junior worlds on 2007 in Fort Bill
  • 1 0
@mtnbykr05: was talking about Richard Cunynghame
  • 1 0
@Jethro1: I guess I'm the one having a hard time keeping track.
  • 3 0
Great to see Richard Cunningham doing the highlight commentary! I thought he paired well with Rob Warner for the WC DH races.

Does anyone know the logic behind the women's races being worth 100 points less than the men's race? Is that a team points thing? Seems odd...
  • 4 0
Probably just cause there's less women in the race. If they gave 1st 500 points, last place would still have 200 points where last in men's get zero

When's it going to be a live feed vid?.. Live feed go pro, cameras on trees and helicopter drone.
Great edit can't wait for round two. Thanks
  • 4 0
I don't think EWS live feed would come any time soon, just think about the logistics and its cost, in spite of all our love for this discipline, the EWS organisation is quite small and its budget still marginal compared to let us say XC or DH so the means allocated to media shouldn't be more than a fraction of those of the said UCI disciplines, that being said, the GPS artefacts attached to the top 30 racers' bikes seem to be a good path to follow.
  • 2 0
Even if they just focused a live feed on the most technical or final stage of each race that would be amazing.
  • 2 0
@James-R: Yeah, last stage would be excellent. Back into town in Finale would be superb.
  • 6 0
19:57 Richie Rude having fun behind the scenes

I'm new to mountain biking and this will be my first year following EWS and Wold Cup DH. I've been an avid fan of Supercross and Motocross my entire life and those race are on TV every week, usually live. Where can I watch these enduro and DH races? Or am i just relegated to highlight videos?
  • 11 0
EWS is usually highlights due to the logistical difficulty of filming all the stages. DH world cup has good live coverage on redbull tv, there is usually a link from pinkbike on the day. Full race replays too.

Amazing video!! What a way to feel in it!! Love to see this compilation type of a WC DH weekend... Talk after first day practise, after seeding, finals. Amazing video! Congrats racers and organizers!
  • 4 0
I like how they give men and women just about equal coverage. Let's hope this helps equalise the sport a bit. DH pay notice
  • 4 0
damn, these ews vids are getting better every time! Thanks PB!
  • 3 0
Awesome vid, this needs to be on TV! Got me so pumped to go riding and racing!
  • 2 0
Absolutely first class production. Thank you PinkBike. With racing like that it may well be a season that sees Enduro become the viewers choice!
  • 3 0
I wait this resume since the end of the round. And result : a great vid

Rad report, and amazing trails! Hopefully the EWS will get the support needed to bring us extended highlight stage reports in the future!

Weird not to see Santa Cruz near the font of the pack. You'd think they would get their Nomad and/or Bronson onto the podium, or even the top 10.
  • 3 0
It's the rider not the bike bro.
  • 1 0
 for real?
  • 1 0
santa cruz have cedric gracia, its enought Big Grin
  • 1 0
I liked it! The place kinda reminds be of Nor Cal in a twisted dream.
Bariloche next right? That place has some pretty rugged terrain!
  • 3 0
 Bang tidy,great coverage,loved it!
  • 1 0
Richie Rude is 21 and Martin Maes 18.
Nico Vouilloz is 40 and got 3rd.
A little perspective; if Nico were racing by age group, that puts him in Master's B.
  • 3 0
Just wanted to say thanks for putting out such great coverage.
  • 1 0
How do the team rankings work. Without knowing anything about it I would have guessed that GT would be first with two second places
  • 2 0
ahhhh i was needing that! bring on round 2!
  • 2 0
Love the epic intro music. So legit

Does anyone else find Cunny saying 'GC' feckin annoying or is it just me?
  • 2 0
Haha I have thought that a few times as well.
  • 2 0
It annoys me too!! Ha ha Any suggestions for alternatives?
  • 1 0
@Cunny: haha, can't you just say the weekend overall? What does GC even stand for???

 @shakeyakey: General classification...

@shakeyakey: Fair point but five syllables vs two. Need to keep it as tight as possible. ;-)
