Come out and join us on March 7 and help to beautify Sumas Mountain by cleaning up the garbage!

My name is Doug Mossey and I had the honour of carrying the Olympic Torch on February 8, 2010. My application to join the Olympic Torch Relay included a pledge to somehow better Canada. I chose to organize a community event to clean up our much-loved Sumas Mountain! Details inside,So mark your calendar and come on out anytime between 10am and 4pm and let’s make a real difference to our local environment! Don’t worry about food, as we will be BBQ’ing in order to keep the energy levels up!

If you have a 4X4 or a large truck to offer, please email me at duga@lycos.com.

If you have any questions or comments, please don't hesitate to contact me. Also check out www.fvmba.com to learn more about all the good things were are doing for mountain bikers in the Fraser Valley.

Sincerely,
Doug Mossey

in your area ,where you ride, or park.
Get that garbage bag and get in on a great idea.
Gotta ride?? Then bring a bigger pack and get some Karma points and DO IT.
The ball is in your court,do anything but complain.
WE CAN make a difference.

Why is nobody jumping in on this, does everyone just expect to ride self cleaning trails?

It takes time. You need a critical mass of 12-20 people and a few trucks. I'm talking from personal experience, less is more. One year, five of us picked up about 4 tons of crap, big stuff too. And worked with the lcoal authorities to have it removed from site. Top tips - get a removal partner. Get bags and work gloves provided too. Promote this with photos and coverage in your local media and Pinkbike. Invite other trail use groups, schools, volunteer groups in the area. But definitely promote the ass out of it.
