An open and honest letter to all mountain bikers,
Let’s keep this to the point. This isn’t a cunning marketing plan to get you to buy a bike from us. We’re not scouting high-profile athletes to endorse this cause, and we’re not creating a fancy video that’ll keep you entertained for 3-4 minutes. This is simple; we need your help.
We’re all responsible for the dirt we ride. We see too many riders just rock up, ride and head home without a thought to the people who dug, shaped and maintained the trail they just rode. We want to change that. "Soil Searching is run by Fanie Kok (Fahnee, like Tahnee), and is a worldwide movement run in partnership with Specialized. We support the volunteer trail builders and mountain bike communities who dedicate their spare time maintaining the trails that we use."
Soil Searching is looking for volunteers to donate a few hours at one of the many Dig Days around the United Kingdom. Since February, we’ve dug in the Surrey Hills with B1KE, Hamsterley Forest with Hamsterley Trailblazers and Cannock Chase with Chase Trails, and with more Dig Days planned in Scotland and the Surrey Hills, we really need your help.
It may not seem like a lot, but this is a continuous effort solely run by volunteers. All their tools are their own, and any costs associated are funded through donations. They don’t do it for a pay check, they do it for the love of mountain biking.
If you want to come along to one of the Dig Days we have planned, or know of any dig crews that could benefit from our help, please click the link below:Soil Searching Dig DaysWin a custom Specialized Stumpjumper
If you can’t make any of the Dig Day’s, why not donate to support your local trails, and possibly win a tricked-out Specialized Stumpjumper at the same time?
Öhlins, Hope Technology, Renthal, Specialized, Roval. It's all here, and it's all up for grabs. All you need to do is donate a fiver of your hard-earned, and boom, you're in the running. If you win, congrats, you've landed yourself one of the hottest bikes on the planet, and if you don't? Well, all proceeds of your donation go into a bucket (not literally) and will get split between a number of local trail building crews, putting a dent in their overheads and allowing them to invest in new tools and materials so they can shape berms and build new features!Click here to donate to Soil Searching, and win the bike of your dreams!
