Swatch Rocket Air - Canada wins Teambattle

The 5th annual Swatch Rocket Air kicked off today with a heated battle between countries. In the end, it was Team Canada who took home the title winning the Rapid Fire Team Battle competition.

They blew the crowd away as the riders dug deep for an unreal routine leading them to victory. Long before the official event took place, excitement was building as the riders took to the course for practice. Eight countries participated in the battled challenging one another to impress the panel and the crowd as the ultimate judge.

Team UK and team Canada dominated the first run and therefore secured a spot in the finale. Barrett-Hay, Chubey, van Steenbergen, Lamirande and Wallace of team Canada brought the crowd to their feet and took home the Swatch Rapid Fire Team Battle title. They snatched 1500 CHF in prize money and made their country proud.

Riders also competed for ten remaining spots in Saturday’s main event. Bobby Lamirande took the first place of it. The Slopestyle final featuring the top 25 riders will take place today with spectators able to catch all the action via the online broadcast at 8pm CET.
