MRP G2 Guide Test MRP G2 Guide Test
While not the first or only people to fabricate a chain retention device, MRP is arguably the first to do it properly. When the System 1 was first produced in 1996 it set a precedent for chain guides. When a lot of other people were installing spring loaded derailleur tensioners or chain stay mounted rollers, MRP began to produce the simplest solution to what turned out to be a not so simple problem. As time passed, bike designs evolved, and so did the rider's skill. Their line of guides also expanded to include the System 2, the many options of the System 3, and the latest design, the MRP G2.

I've spent the last few months trying to do my worst to the G2. Want to know how it worked?

E-Thirteen LG1 chainguide review E-Thirteen LG1 chainguide review
This has got to be the easiest chainguide systems I've ever set up. It took me about twenty five minutes to install. If you are used to E-Thirteen Chainguides you shouldn't have any problems! Really simple system and extremely light, even with the 36 tooth E-Thirteen chainring. The chainring itself only weighs 37.26 grams. That’s lighter than a CD.

The FSA Gravity Chain guide: Boomerang style chain guide evolved. The FSA Gravity Chain guide: Boomerang style chain guide evolved.
If you are like me, your bike has come stock with a front derailleur, although you can’t remember the last time you shifted into the small ring on your crank set. However that darn front derailleur causes nothing but inconvenience and worry that it may put you in the wrong gear at the worst time. This is where I was last week my chain skipped on the front chain ring while I was preparing to do a wheelie drop at a local bike park, needless to say I ended up face first on the ground, at that point I knew that my front derailleur and myself were not compatible. So it was time for me to get a chain guide.
