Drift HD170 Initial helmet camera Review Drift HD170 Initial helmet camera Review
Drift Innovations recently announced the release of their new HD170 helmet camera. You may have seen the original X170 around - it's hard to miss with its bright orange casing. The X170 was a good offering for first time users on a budget, but it lacked some features that higher end users wanted. The new HD170 has been designed to meet these requirements and then some. New features like HD video, digital zoom, night mode and a good rechargeable battery are welcome additions to the wireless remote control and colour LCD screen found on the X170.

Drift X170 - Helmet and Bike Camera - Review Drift X170 - Helmet and Bike Camera - Review
The Drift X170 is an interesting package with some features that make it stand out from other cameras. For example, packing a 170 degree wide angle lens that has 360 degree rotation. This allows you to always have the image the right way up when filming which is important with the camera's 16:9 wide screen filming mode. Two video file types are supported, MP4 or MJEG AVI at 30 FPS. The body is wrapped in protective rubber outer making it waterproof to 0.5 meters.

Let's see how it worked out inside,
