Steve Peat races the DH section at the brand new 8 hour enduro race that is the Muc Off 8. The race takes place on the 11th of April at Pippingford Park, UK, and Steve hooked up with his sponsor Muc Off to set a time for the racers to aim at on the day.

There are not very many relationships in the mountain bike community as long lived and storied as MRP and Steve Peat. For the past decade, MRP has been the chain guide of choice for a legend in the sport of downhill mountain bike racing.

Downhill Mountain biking this weekend reached a milestone in racing history. Stile Cop in Cannock Chase (Near Birmingham, England) didn't know what hit it with huge crowds, a Storm Trooper, a Gorilla, Steve Peat and Josh Bryceland in attendance and all for a good cause.

Come race Steve Peat on November 15th and raise money for Stephen Murray. The Racer's Guild runs grassroots racing for free at Stile Cop in Cannock Chase, which is north of Birmingham here in the UK.

As you all have probably heard, I had a little accident at the weekend and as I know how rumours spread I thought it was time to let you all know the real story.

Thousands lined the course Saturday for the annual Red Bull Downtown race in Lisbon, Portugal. They gathered to watch Steve Peat defend his 5 consecutive titles of this challenging and unique race. Every year the best downhill racers in the world converge here to test themselves and their equipment on terrain quite different than the typical World Cup. Paved drops, staircases, flat corners, high-speed cobbles, and big crowds make this urban downhill difficult in many ways.

Every year some jock footballer wins this award. There is a real chance this year of we all club together and get voting. Lets turn the tables!

Voting has opened for the 2006 BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award

The 2006 BBC Sports Personality of the Year award may have prompted critical opinions that British sporting success stories have been a bit thin on the ground this year. This is definitely not the case in mountain biking where Britain's Tracy Moseley and Steve Peat took the overall UCI Downhill Mountain Bike World Cup Champion titles. In Steve's case, it's the third time he's won this impressive title(02,04 & 06).

Heading into the UCI World Cup Finals in the charming Austrian village of Schladming, Santa Cruz Syndicate’s Steve Peat lead the points race by 178 points over Greg Minnaar. Mathematically, Peat was assured of a top two finish, but by no means felt he had a lock on the series overall. Minnaar was bringing his best game to the table and was going to challenge Peat to the end.

Steve Peat (SANTA CRUZ SYNDICATE/SRAM/ROCKSHOX) places 2nd in the UCI World Cup Downhill Series in Brazil behind winner Matti Lehikoinen. Marc Beaumont (MBUK/SANTA CRUZ) flies in for another podium appearance in 5th. Peat had the third fastest split time of the day just .23 ahead of Lehikoinen at 1:42.82, but lost a fraction of a second on the bottom of the course and crosses the line just .09 back with a time of 2:19.40 to Lehikoinen’s 2:19.31. Closest to Peat in the points, Minnaar had the fastest split at 1:42.63, but had bad luck as he suffered a flat tire and a crash to roll in at 23rd place. Syndicate’s Nathan Rennie finished in 17th place.

It all came together on this cold Sunday afternoon for Steve Peat. His race run was flawless as usual. But the funny thing about his run was that every other rider in the top ten aired the inside line on the big gap… except Peaty. He managed to drop 1.17 seconds off Minnaar’s solid second place finish. (hmm-staying on the ground may be faster-or its just Peaty kicking ass!) On a 2-minute course that is a whole lot of time. It’s mind boggling really, but I’m going to give the credit to the unstoppable V10.

After two and a half weeks of rain everyday, the team enjoyed their first dry day with bits of sunshine when they arrived in the quaint German town of Willingen found nestled in a green valley surrounded by pine covered hills. Even still, the downhill track was muddy, as it had rained for weeks here, too, and the grassy off camber turns sent riders tumbling.

Local’s say when you are in Scotland the answer to the question, “What will the weather be today?” is always “Rain”. So right they were! “Brollies” and “Wellies” were the call for the week with rain every day on the Nevis Range, just outside of the town of Fort William, in the northwest highlands of Scotland.

Steve Peat reigns as king of the Red Bull Lisbon Downtown race held in Lisbon, Portugal on Saturday May 13th,.. Peat, and re-Peat (Santa Cruz Syndicate, SRAM, RockShox), wins again, as it is the fifth year in a row for total dominance by this man. Hands down, no one can argue that Peaty reigns supreme, as second place finisher Cedric Gracia finishes .76 seconds back of the “King”, who finished in 1:41.65. Sam Hill rounds out the podium with a third place finish at 1.58 back.
