In the months since you last heard from us, we sent our tire inserts out to some of our favorite pros. We're excited to say that these amazing riders have seen the benefits of yes, putting tubes back in their tires. And no, it's not April Fool's Day.
Although tubes may sound like a step backward, they allow our proprietary Aither 1.1 foam compound to sit directly under the tire casing, something virtually no other insert offers. It’s what gives our inserts, called Tannus Armour, their nearly 360 degrees of flat protection and unique silent and planted feel.
World Cup DH rider Luca Cometti, emanating swag.
"The added suspension damping is the best I have experienced out of any tire insert and is a noticeable difference on all trails. It is also the easiest tire insert to put on--I can install my downhill tires without any levers and it generally takes me less than 5 minutes." - Luca
Freeride aficionado Jaxson Riddle in Virgin, Utah.
"I'm not worried about destroying my wheels because these things make impacts softer." -Jaxson
Bellingham hero Kelend Hawks on his local trails in Washington.
"The raddest part about these inserts is that you can drop pressure and get unbelievable traction." -Kelend
Not only does smoother feel better, smoother is faster. Our testers found that Tannus Armour was eight seconds faster than tubeless over a two-minute course.
Luca Cometti, Jaxson Riddle and Kelend Hawks all had the chance to test the inserts, and after just one lap, each quickly made the switch to Armour.
Tannus America CEO Dave Ballard said, “We are here to challenge the perception of what is possible in terms of protection, traction and vibration damping in mountain tires. We believe these inserts, together with a traditional tube, make riding feel different -- even better -- than any tire setup out there.”
Armour is priced to be accessible at $40 per insert -- about half the price of many competitors. Now available at https://tannusamerica.com.
