There are also new bikes to talk about…

Team manager Nigel Page has been with the trio during their preparations for their return to racing this weekend, and sent in this report…

After a dream come true 2018 season with Sam Hill and Elliott Heap winning the Enduro World Series in their respected categories the Chain Reaction Cycles Mavic team is staying the same for 2019.

MTB legend Sam Hill, five-time DH world Champion and two-time Enduro World Champion heads the team roster again with U21 Enduro World Champion and all round bike riding genius Elliott Heap, who moves up to the Elite category this season, with Irish rider Kelan Grant completing the dream team line-up.

Sam’s long-time mechanic Jacy Shumilak continues as head mechanic, and we’d like to welcome back Carl Geeson who has worked for the team in the past, covering the European duties, as mechanic for Elliott and Kelan. A big thanks to Paul Tracey for all the help at home getting the bikes prepped and ready for this first trip.

Spanish sensations Salva Moreno and Kike Abelleira will be with us all the way capturing video and photo content.

We have also kept all our amazing same sponsors and partners – why change anything when everything is as good as it gets?

Mavic continue as our joint title sponsor and have us covered for the best wheels available along with our race clothing, gloves, shoes (for the clipless pedal riders), and open-face helmets.

Obviously, huge appreciation goes to Nukeproof for our frames and components – a big thank you to Rob and Steve for all their help.

I think the 2019 bikes look amazing; I love the Nukeproof original yellow bikes and the fresh new team kit.

Gratitude also goes to SRAM and RockShox for suspension, drivetrain, and brakes; Michelin for the tyres (we have some new amazing options for 2019); MRP for chain devices; 100% for full face helmets and goggles; Muc-Off for keeping the bikes looking clean and lubed; Mudhugger for the mud guards; AVS for the super trick enduro hand guards; OneUp components for bike tools and pumps; and Clif Bar for nutrition.

Thanks to everyone who has been involved for all their hard work and dedication getting everything ready in time for the season. It has been a challenge but worth it when it all comes together.

We had a perfect year last year and we are hoping for another amazing 2019 season where we will be doing our best to win some races and have an amazing time riding and racing all around the globe.

We are in Rotorua, New Zealand now for Round 1 of the EWS before heading off to Derby, Tasmania for Round 2 in just over a weeks time.

Let the good times roll…

Cheers,

Nigel

And smell much better. That bus gets a bit wiffy in the summer. Especially with recycled instead of wash cycled clothing.

Well , at least somebody still rides 27.5

@Clifflane3 I always thought the old kit looked awesome, and don't really like the new ones at all.

I know I'm in the minority on that though.

Nevermind the jerseys, the bikes are old school Nukeproof Yellow, everyone back to the 90s!

Finally, the era of CRC ''Logo over design'' moto is gone. There is a visible influence from WD40 color scheme on the kit, but at least the bike looks radioactive.

@FRKA “Logo over design is gone”? We must be looking at different pics then ...

Had to Google Ellioits Pies thought they'd spelt his name wrong on the pie sticker Smile

 So did I

Whist pie
Pies and Pastries. North West. Very small (two-bite) raised hot-water double-crust pies of slightly oval form, filled with spiced salt meat and jelly. Lower bake than Melton Mowbray, the filling may be cured pork or minced beef, often with bacon and almost invariably with a pork jelly.

Sounds nice

But they have spelt his name wrong?????????

 That yellow is damn nice.
  • 3 0
Agreed...but that blue was really freakin sweet.

I dig the OG yellow, but Sam’s blueberry bike was the hotness. I’m sure as the season progresses we will see some new colors.

It has to be deliberate that the yellow shoulder stripes and the yellow headtube resemble the nukeproof logo when a rider is filmed front-on??? That's awesome
  • 1 0
Sam Hill on a yellow bike... seems like Slash on a yellow guitar. I dunno I'm sure he will smash it on any bike, it just doesn't seem bad ass enough
  • 1 0
I agree, especially compared to that really cool bass boat green/yellow paint job from a couple years ago on the carbon frame.
  • 3 1
Did someone not tell CRC, Hazzard had that colour covered?
  • 3 1
oh i thoght the showcase should be in Chernobyl Smile
  • 3 2

Can somebody get Sam Hill a DH bike? STAT!!! the world cups need the flat pedal thunder back!
  • 2 0
Are those DH 22 tires available? Not on Michelin website.
  • 2 0
They never have been despite my constant loud whining (and my steadfast defense of the color scheme). They just don't want me to have any. I'll just roll along on my boring Wild Enduros........
