With a partner doing the 3D-prints, they can customize different kinematics for the suspension quickly.

Another Gamux prototype was hidden in plain sight in their van. Not allowed to tell you much about it yet, other than it’s not a downhill bike.

GT Bicycles came with their European support van to give Wyn Masters and Martin Maes the support they needed to test some wheel size options and settings.

Photo Leopold Hermann
Nice if you can chill out in the van when the riders haven’t shown up yet.

Only because NotARace is, well, not a race, doesn’t mean that it doesn’t help to know the day’s schedule.

The secret book of knowledge with all of Wyn’s past and current bike settings for this season. Every rider has one.

Martin Maes’ ride ready for a day on the hill.

Maes runs his chainstays in the short setting.

Commencal/100%’s Greg Williamson is another test pilot for Maxxis. Looks like a DHR II so the secret must lie within.

Nice detail on the Commencal Supreme’s wider bash guard protecting the links.

100% clean number plate mount.

Sometimes a little low-tech in the form of a converted fork bumper can do the trick to solve chain slap. Quote Rastislav Baranek: “It looks terrible, but it works.”
photo
Baranek runs his Kellys Noid’s chainstay in the short setting.

Max Hartenstern waiting for his mechanic to put the finishing touches on his new Cube downhill bike before tackling the day. More info on the bike soon.

Melanie Chappaz definitely wouldn't have any trouble picking her bike from a group of Santa Cruz V10s.

 That V10 is shocking

 Electrified

 E10

 lightning quick, though.
  • 5 0
It really brings the energy out

 @pivotpoint: don't give them ideas...
  • 6 0
Is that the most current model?
  • 1 0
 My kind of E-Bike

I think miss Wyn Masters' race-weekend interviews as much as the races themselves. He's damn funny.

 It’s coming soon

That gamux prototype is not a DH, and it has a gearbox Smile
  • 2 0
 What sort of gearbox??
  • 2 0
@gcrider: hard to say. I’d bet on a Pinion though, just because it’s the most common gearbox out there
  • 3 0
@gcrider: looks like a pinion grip shifter to my super-zoom eyes
  • 1 0
@gcrider: It looks very Pinion-ey from a distance.
  • 1 0
Well it's clearly single speed and probably a gearbox. Looks like a pinion ring but beyond that my eyes can't make out anything else...

Anybody wishing that shimano gearbox would come out already
  • 9 2
 That Banshee tho.....
  • 3 1
Their new lineup is fantastic all around.

Why aren’t tire manufacturers designing inserts that come pre installed into tires? Think like a huck norris or a slimmed cushcore build in.
  • 3 1
cool idea if you're ready to spend a lot more money on tires
  • 3 0
Honestly sounds like a waste to the regular rider. Why spend more money in the long run if you can buy one set of Cushcore and have it last the life of multiple tires?
  • 3 0
Ohhh, now we see those Gamux 3D printed links and dropouts Smile
So it's a tuning kit for MDE frame, cool.
  • 3 1
THIS non racing seems like a lot of fun, would really like to do a non race, especially if can get factory support?
Way more fun than actual racing!
  • 2 0
 3 D printed linkages ? cool
  • 2 0
Wyn and Maes not running coils?
  • 1 0
I hope the new Cube downhill bike is called the three fifteen or something, next step, new hour, something like that.
  • 1 0
Serious question Why's it called notarace
  • 6 0
@Dexterfawkes probably so they can get around some coronavirus rules about sporting events I would imagine. Just a guess though, has to be something like that.
  • 6 0
@MikeGruhler: Probably so they don't have to comply with UCI or National Association Regulations re paying for official staff and representatives rather than using knowledgeable local volunteers as track staff.
  • 2 0
@andrewbikeguide: yeah, definitely trying to get around some type of regulation from somewhere.
  • 4 0
First of all. Its not a race. No spectators, no points, no champagne. It's a timed training session... More like a reality check for the riders, really... I guess

Where da ebikes at? (Said in my best Cleavon Little/Blazing Saddles imitation voice)
  • 3 3
Better buy the new Scott Gambler Tuned than that Cube.
