Was thinking the exact same thing, bring on 10 mins of riding slowed down to an entire hour of footage!
  • 32 6
as great of a movie it was i think of rad company when i read 10 mins of riding slowed down

Lets see how this one goes hey.. anthill always leaves me underwhelmed. Don't get me wrong they are amazing and get me stoked to ride, but after the movies clay porter has produced, everything else falls a little short. This looks pretty sick, +1 hope its not mostly slow mo.
  • 18 0
This film totally went under the radar. How the HELL did this happen? please see here for explanation --> www.youtube.com/watch?v=bC-iA0P6jRo
  • 24 0
Clay Porter films setting the standard? Hahaha right, tell me more about how nose hair close ups and multiple replays of the same shot (try 5 in Reid's segment from 3 Minute Gaps) constitute the benchmark in MTB filming.
  • 20 1
 Needs moar reckless helicopter flying
  • 23 3
Currently my top mtb film is Life Cycles(even though in my opinion a large percentage of the mountain bike community did not fully appreciate it i), but if unReal takes its spot, I wont even be mad.
  • 3 0
@Benlow I tried to watch F1rst recently. Thirty seconds in, Porter's narration had me reaching for the mute button. Yikes. Nice photography but not the standard.
  • 4 4
its not about make us stoked anymore, its about epic slow motion shots with mountain biking in the background
  • 4 0
yea but that front flip tho!
  • 4 0
Van Burger's front flip is unreal massive... holy crap. TGR got quite the hardon for mtbing lately but it's still wild to see they're throwing their hat in the ring... sorta. It looks like TGR is providing the opportunity along with throwing in some cool ideas and they're letting Anthill run away with it. This is going to be epic.
  • 11 1
@CVSickEdits Agreed, so many good bike movies out there but none of them get me stoked like life cycles did, and still does!
  • 7 0
^ Follow Me, any of the NWD's, Collective, Roam... those get my gears grinding in a good way. Check em out if you haven't yet, def. worth a watch.
  • 5 3
You can't compare Anthill/Collective films to anything in this sport. It's because their movies totally catch the spirit of mountain biking and freeride in particular. Life Cycles is incredible looking movie, but it's about an hour of slo mo shots. It does have a message, but doesn't catch the spirit. It doesn't push me to grab my bike at 3 am and go shredin'.

I certainly hope that this is nothing like The Art of Flight. That movie was blatantly geared toward 10yr olds, it was egocentric and was a cinematic waste of money. It had zero soul, and did not capture what the sport is all about. I have higher expectations for an Anthill film than that. Bring on the hyphens...
  • 11 2
@golden. You and the other 3 people who didn't like art of flight should start a support group for each other. The rest of us think you're crazy.
  • 6 2
@golden , I realize you have a right to an opinion, but I'm here to tell you, your opinion sucks.
  • 13 3
I am aware that a lot of people liked TAOF. There were also a lot of people that really liked Twilight.
  • 2 1
Golden ^^^ ouch. I despited TAOF and Twilight for the record finding both pretentious
  • 5 2
hahahahaha goldengarbageman for best burn Smile
  • 4 0
Art of Flight was brilliant. One of the best snowboard movies I've seen. I was only disappointed that few amazing shots from the trailer was not involved in the movie (riding over the chairlift and "painting" over the snow). I'm pretty sure Unreal will make me wanna grab my bike just after the end credits and go outside. Anthill/Collective never failed in that.
  • 1 0
The one for me that just gets me stoked cuz the vibe is right is #notbad !!!

Cam McCaul in Office Outfit !!!!!!!!!!

Shoulda got Sean Penn to play McCaul for that part.

2015? That really is a teaser! Not to sound impatient but NOW please.
  • 35 1
Wow! This looks as if it may set a new benchmark. Can't wait to see it!
  • 11 1
Teton Gravity Research has done a fantastic job with ski films, probably the best in the big mountains. I have not been into the freeride thing lately and kind of became bored with the films as I got older. Part of the reason, and this is just my opinion, is that things became too much about dirt jumps and bmx style stuff, not enough mountain.

It is very nice to see TGR coming into things. Also the Rampage being back these past few years is very cool. Like Richie Schley said back in the day "keep the mountain in mountain biking"

Thanks for listening.
  • 2 0
I was REALLY hoping of something a lot more along the lines of Jones' trilogy when i was TGR was onboard. Sadly it is not to be, more slopestyling :/
  • 3 2
I respectfully disagree. TGR ski films have grown incredibly stale over the last 5-8 years. They are formulaic in a bad way, involving way to much talking and filler between action. Mix that with the terrible Anthill soundtracks, and well.... I'm a bit hesitant to see them involved in a bike project, but maybe they'll prove me wrong.
  • 3 2
I disagree 100% with you, I think TGR films have gotten better over the years. Yes Jeremy Jones' trilogies have a lot of talking but they are more of an adventurous film series. Their ski films have gotten better and better, The "Dream Factory" from two years ago is one of the best films I have seen in a while, maybe besides Into the Mind, it's the best film in the past 3 years. I think the fact that they don't just play music with the same AK scenes that everyone films and adds stories into their films is what sets them apart from everyone else. It's obviously all about personal opinion, but I think this is an amazing collaboration.

Having TGR involved in this film is going to bring a high production value to MTB movies, and make a film that is yet to be seen in the industry.
  • 1 0
You are correct, to each their own. I can only watch Bro-brah speaking athletes talk about how stoked they are and using their skiing/biking/ect. to paint a picture on the mountain so many times before I want to rip my ears off.
  • 2 0
Also, I don't know how long you're TGR history goes, but you should rewatch from Harvest through Tangerine Dream to appreciate their good work
  • 1 0
I love Tangerine Dream, absolutely amazing! I have been a big fan for a while, that's why I am so excited to see them getting involved in the MTB scene.
  • 8 0
Why isn't Kelly Mcgarry in any of the major mountain bike films? The guy has a fearless riding style and he's a super cool dude with a personality. I would much rather see a Mcgarry section than watch Brandon semenuk. He got robbed at rampage the guy is the man and should be in more movies.

The damn Sierra club is gonna sh*t when they see that horse scene!
  • 4 0
Everything with Matt Hunter, Doerfling and Vanderham gonna be epic.. They ride big epic route.. Cant wait for the complete version. Hope it'll get longer than 70 minutes of pure trail addict..
  • 9 6
There is nothing in the world that got me more exited than Anthill/Collective movies. If Angelina Jolie ask me to have sex with her and in the same time there is the Unreal movie premiere, I'll be like: "Sorry bitch, I have a better thing to do". Maybe there is something wrong with me, I don't know.
  • 9 5
 Maybe?There's something wrong with you?
Ya think?
And, you called her a bitch for no reason at all....for a bike movie premier

Office job, yes. Normal? I'm thankful that there's more variety in employment than just cubicle living.

Follow Me still their best film to date, hope this one is better than the last few.
  • 2 1
follow me is a very good film. But the soundtrack is far from perfect.
  • 2 0
I agree, Follow Me is their best film hands down. With TGRs production resources this one should be an amazing video.

CAm already had dirt on his arm when he was pushing through the celing tile..

also, I am glad that I don't work in offices... looks bleak

No fat bike required for that glacier riding either... Smile

looking forward Smile
  • 1 0
Its cause the dirt fell through the ceiling on his hand, thats why it was on there before he pushed it through. I thought the same thing then watched it again.
  • 3 0
That's HAIR on Cam's arm. Ya know, like grown ups have...
  • 2 0
Hair on your arms? Do you even road bike, bro???
  • 3 0
10/10 will watch just to see tom van steenbergen's frontflip
  • 6 3

Not my cup of tea, seems very similar to most MTB videos, I want to see more Earthed style videos, full speed, close action and no f*cking helicopters.
  • 1 0
Good to see several wc racers in the mix. Always makes for a much more dynamic film vs all of one discipline. Can't wait!

DAMMIT! we have to wait until next summer to watch this?! haha seriously digging this rider line up.
