A few months ago I was asked to do a keynote presentation about filmmaking and storytelling at the
Dutch Mountain Film Festival, an annual outdoor sports festival in the Netherlands. The festival took place last weekend and had a mountain bike theme day for the first time this year, which - as an avid mountain biker - is right up my alley. It was a great experience to tell about my work and passion to a group of people that were not only interested in the sport but also in the filmmaking process.
To introduce myself and my work I wanted to put together something special, something that would really link filmmaking and the sport that brought me so much in life: riding bikes. I’ve been wanting to create this video for some time now and this seemed like the perfect moment. Coincidentally my company is celebrating it's three year anniversary this week (
HURRAY!), so it’s also a great moment to look back on the past years and go back to my roots if you like.
I'm sure many of you recognize yourself in the video and have a similar relationship with the simple yet amazing thing we've all come to love: mountain biking. Please enjoy my latest video:
'Thank You, Bicycle'.

@peanutbuter be careful...
@kerberos actually it's not as bad as you'd think. I had this project in my head for a long time and knew which moments / clips would fit which part of the story. Once I had written down the story, all the editing from recording the voice over to exporting took me about 2 days.
I love it,and also what it brings to me.
Very glad I didnt see that from a hospital bed otherwise I would have been in tears!
Thanks for taking the time to make this!
Author would be a great spokesman for TVShops :]
