Here's my 2016 summed up in 15 minutes featuring Brendan Fairclough, Andrew Neethling, Sam Reynolds, Olly Wilkins, Sam Pilgrim and more. The highs and lows from breaking my shoulder and thumb in the Whip Off at Crankworx New Zealand to smashing wet muddy ruts in Les Gets, to riding in a mine to watching idiots jump on cacti in the states! #OiOi MENTIONS:@the-deakinator / @SamReynolds26 / @sampilgrim
@ghostrider95: @nvranka: @Trials-FTW: I find it irritating to judge someone without knowing or meeting them, Heres something about me for you to learn if you really wanna know, www.pinkbike.com/news/ben-deakin-deakinator-interview-2015.html Im no Rockstar Slopestyle rider or Fast factory DH rider but most importantly I'm someone who knows first hand how life can change at any moment and decided to live my life to the best of my ability after leaving the military, I don't judge people I just ride as its my passion if it means riding with mates who happen to be pros then so be it! Peace, If you've got a problem then tell it to my face rather than through a keyboard!! #OiOi
Well said Deaks, you live the dream live life to the full. When you are old which will be soon You can look back and say, I did it all rather than i wish i had.
Dear "Deakinator" Ben! Pretty awesome interview. You must have been through lots of things and it's awesome you started to live your life to the best of your abilities as a bike rider around the world. But which of my statement is incorrect about you? I still think you include pros in your videos only to boost your views and article clicks. Also, following your logic, please tell your fans you've never met to stop commenting under the article, since they don't know you either and they are judging you, only in a positive way. I prefer real life interactions too but chances are we'll never meet haha. Take some criticism. Peace and #OiOi (whatever it means)!
Why do you have to know who the rider is? He's not cooking you dinner or dating your daughter. I don't know what many 'famous' riders look like without a helmet on (I asked Jerome Clementz last your what group he was in at an enduro round) that doesn't mean I don't love the scene and everything to do with the sport. Watching vids online, whether it's the latest blockbuster or someone's bedroom edit, the goal is the same no matter who's involved. People want you to see it and think, that's awesome, I'm gonna get out on my bike and ride.
After meeting Ben in Forest Of Dean and knowing about his history in the Marines he deserves his respect; let alone the fact he is a riding instructor and has helped me with my selection and career path. Some of these comments are unjustified unlike the "OiOi!"
Met You in person fella many times and i can say you are one of the nicest guys out there and go out your way too help others, be it a young lad or an old git like me. Keep doing what your doing and stuff the haters, got your back fella anytime.
Maybe daddy didn't show them enough attention when they were younger.....................................or maybe grandad showed them too much? Oi Oi!!
Deaks is definitely The fact that he just turns up at races and podiums means that this vid is purely just an overview of how he enjoys his life when he's not putting the hard graft in to place high at race days.
Also, any guy who can rock up and session bike parks with Brendan, Hart and top world cup riders is obviously a pinner on a bike, I could name a handful of boring C***ts on the top ten world cup riders list yet portray such a boring and bland attitude with no interest in their fans...
Biking isn't about this.
It's about a calorie controlled macrobiotic diet.
Getting to bed early after a hard session on the old crossfit.
Being nice and quiet reading your favourite training manual.
@ghostrider95: I didn't really want to enter this debate as Id rather you speak to me directly rather than be the big hard man behind a keyboard, But just for your enjoyment heres a video of one of my other mates who isn't a Pro which still managed to get over 140,000 Views www.facebook.com/Deakinator1/videos/10154632787133345 Ill be sure to tell Brendog, Pilgrim etc that I'm not going to film them next year as some twerp on Pinkbike thinks I just use them to gain video views nothing to do with the fact they are my mates, Anyway cheers for exposing that fact so if you wouldnt mind taking your head for a s**t and any after thoughts feel free to message me directly and we can go from there, Cheers #OiOi
Shots fired!
Don't get too put down by it Deaks, you've earned your space on the home page. Keep shredding and putting it all on YouTube, I very much look forward to your videos.

Deaks is the man. Love the edits and even said Hi at Ard Rock enduro. Cool guy and can't wait for the edits through 2017. Cant drink Newkie brown for toffee though! Keep it up Deaks. #oioi
To be fair see him on the corner spectating at the megavlache after he had qualified on a corner shouted Oi Oi and he shouted back fucking have it lad spured me on tbh top lad much respect
Saw this video yesterday and I couldn't help myself not to comment the behavior of these guys. I've lived for some time on the coast of Croatia, in Dubrovnik...and this sums up the Brits (or the English especially) as I've seen them a lot in Dubrovnik. So rude, loud, not thinking about anything other then themselves, destructive, most of the time drunk. And that "Oi oi" is annoying AF. Ok now I am prepared for all the downvotes I'm gonna get.
Dude is in each place for a few days, usually when hundreds of other people are there for a race or other event. Is he really making *any* difference to the local culture?
Also, in order to ride at that level there's got to be a shit load of training so I suspect the "most of the time drunk" stuff is played up a bit for the camera. Dude must be putting in some serious time on the trail and probably at the gym which doesn't play nice with hangovers.
Simply someone who hangs out with famous riders, manages his online presence well, and makes a living out of it.To me it's pretty irritating for what it's worth, but hey, I've never met the guy.
I wasn't saying it means anything, but I am on PB all the time and follow DH fairly closely, yet this guy is hanging out with a bunch of pros, seems to have a following, and i've seen several of his videos, yet still no clue who he is
Absolutely right, I follow a bunch of guys on here, I don't know them, they ride sick and in great places, just so happens his mate are pros and awesome with it.
Personally I love seeing a load of mates having fun on bikes shredding trails and just enjoying life.
Keep doing it Ben and keep the vids coming.
