PRESS RELEASE: The GT Malverns Classic

The Malverns Classic is back and with a bang. From 26th to 29th August (this weekend!!!) the stunning Eastnor Castle Grounds nestled in the Malvern Hills plays host to 'the biggest party in British mountain biking with a packed weekend for both spectators and riders with challenging and exciting events including flat-out racing across all disciplines. The UK’s largest Trade/Expo with close to 200 of your favourite brands on display. Live Entertainment with live Bands and DJ’s, Licenced Bar, Free Fun Fair Rides, Pumptrack, Air Bag and Climbing Wall! Then watch the UCI Downhill Mountain Bike World Championships Live on the big screen all in a chilled out friendly, fun and safe environment.'

'Eastnor Deer Park is a beautiful venue and we openly encourage you to bring your bike and ride. All of the courses when not in use for either practice or racing will be open for you to ride, please make sure you read the ‘Riding’ page prior to riding any courses. For example, once the Dual Slalom event finishes on Friday evening, we will re-open it from Saturday morning onwards, ensuring the courses are manned with marshals and medics available. All of this at no additional cost to you.'

Like racing? There's plenty going on with racing for all age groups from little rippers up to your seasoned veterans racing it out over Dual Slalom, XC, Downhill and Enduro just to name a few. There is even the third round of the Dirtwars Slopestyle series too. Make sure you don't miss the TRP Lake ride and the Whip off, both are bound to be crowd favourites over the weekend.

(Please note you will still have to purchase a festival ticket even if you are racing.)

If racing isn't your thing but you still want to ride your bike at the Malverns (and have a festival ticket) don't panic! The trails are open (as long as not being used for racing or official practice) and all you need to do is purchase a £1 number board so we know who you are.

The Paton Brothers have been working hard to produce an unforgettable event alongside some amazing members of the MTB community who have also been pitching in to help make The Malverns Classic 2021 the biggest and best yet!

Don't worry if you haven't got your tickets yet, day and weekend tickets are still available to purchase at the link below. Children aged 12 and under go for free, no ticket required. Everyone aged 13 or over must purchase a festival ticket to attend.

I'll be there with No2 doing her first-ever proper race in the Rippers DH and Dual Slalom. We've been waiting years to attend and I'm so happy to be able to get the go-ahead for it to happen and She'll be able to stop asking when are we going to the festival dad!
