PRESS RELEASE: The Little Big Bike Festival and Skills Clinics
The Little Big Bike Festival and Skills Clinics 7th annual will take place Sept 21-22 2019 at Truckee Bike Park in Truckee in California. The festival kicks off with a women’s only clinic and a kids group clinic and is followed by Men’s and Women’s Amateur and Pro dual slalom, dual pump track races, jump competitions, strider bike jam and jump jam for kids. Proceeds from the event support the park.
The 2-day event this year will be open to spectators as well as all levels of riders wanting to enjoy the life on 2 wheels all in one place. There will be food trucks, DJ, Beer and vendors. Little Big will be a FMB Bronze Event. This will allow athletes to accumulate points and not have to travel to Europe and Canada to do so. Another exciting addition to the categories are the 11-14 yr old boys and girls will also be able to start accumulating points with FMB in the (rookie) category to have a career ladder in free-riding.
The Little Big Bike Festival is also part of the Women's Slopestyle Tour! It is the first time ever, partnered with 2 other events FMBA (Free-ride Mountain Bike Association) will allow female riders to accrue points which will be reflected in the World Tour ranking system.
The Women’s Slopestyle Tour will be partnering with the FMBA (Free-ride Mountain Bike Association) to bring the addition of women’s Dirt Jump, Free-ride and Slopestyle events to multiple locations across North America. This inaugural series has touched down in 2 cities, beginning at Sugar Showdown in Seattle, WA , then Big White Freeride Days in Kelowna, BC -NOW in September at Truckee Bike Park with The Little big Bike Festival, with hopes of expanding its programming to other centres and offering women opportunities to compete beyond North America. All competitions are included in the FMB World Tour Calendar as an official stop on the Women’s Slopestyle Tour. Each course will be a bronze level event and for the first time ever will allow female riders to accrue points which will be reflected in the World Tour ranking system. Event Details:
