Can you apply backcountry ski-touring approach to a bike trip? We sent Kevin Landry and the boys deep into BC to find out.

No Quarter tells the story of 5 guys heading into the backcountry with information from Google maps and broken stoves, and shows the adventures they had aboard their SCOTT Genius bikes.

 Hey guys! Looked like you guys toughed it out good! Fun to try new things indeed Smile
By curiosity, could I get to know where you guys went? 12 miles -----> Golden?

 If you can't figure it out from the topographic map of all our front range riding spots they just advertised to the world, then you probably shouldn't be out there.

 i Wouldn't even try to go there, BC forestry is on the hunt for hooligan poachers like these guys.

 @BrianColes: trail elitism at its finest. i wish i could have that attitude in CO.

 @BrianColes: I second that!

 @jtayabji: the terrain they traversed is isolated and tough to navigate. If I may paraphrase what @BrianColes said - if you can't identify the area and entry/exits from the pictures and footage using GE, maps etc., then you're probably best of not even trying to get there. Call it "elitism" if you will

 @leelau: backcountry law with lee lau...extending past facebook groups about ski touring. a simple answer from where the video was shot would have sufficed. you should take any chance you can get to pat your self on the back though because you are probably the best skier on the mountain

 @morganrobins: you're American so perhaps haven't encountered the Canuck self-help teach-a-man to fish mentality. I agree it wouldnt have hurt to point the starting point out but I'm not a Purcells local so that's not my place.

Good luck to you in the mountains

 @leelau: I'm Canadian. Met you at the bottom of vista chute. See you around my dude.

 @morganrobins: my bad. Stay safe out there. Nice turns out of Vista

 @jtayabji: I wouldn't call it elitism at all. It's called respect. These zones do not have trails and it is arguably illegal to ride them based off of damaging sensitive alpine flora. They even filmed themselves riding in an area that under section 16 is a no-mountain biking zone. Considering Golden is trying to develop an alpine trail, and battle the usual battle of mtb'ers being hooligan rebels, we don't need this broadcast to the world. And you could even talk about respecting locals zones. Yes, people ride there. In low volume, it's not the end of the world. But now, a film crew from another town rolls in and makes a promotional video for a bunch of these rides and names them and shows a map? Why do that? You don't in other sports.

Then there is the part about claiming they are unridden lines, staying in motels, fudging the story....

 @morganrobins: The video says 'near golden'. That should be enough based on the rest of the info.

 @BrianColes: Thanks for lecturing me on what I should and should not do Brian. I was just curious about their itinerary.
