yap the sickest looking bike, but wait where is gwinn's bike?
  • + 19
 @icespec: check his insta. Priceless...
  • + 35
On a scale of 1-10 I'd rate that bike an Eleven
  • + 3
I want to see more pics.

 @brncr6: who doesn't ? Smile

Its the only bearable ...the rest are clown bikes. :/
  • + 3
 @Rasterman: my wife,she will just see $$$$$
  • + 28
With out a doubt the best looking bike. Simple clean and with a touch of class. The only thing that would make it look better is if Tahnees was sitting on it.
  • + 1
 @sebmx: agreed...
  • + 0
 @Ride406orDie: Yeah... one more faster.
  • + 8
 Bernard Kerr's Camo Pivot Phoenix

Love it but then again I'm the kind of guy who often rides in camo cargo shorts (no fanny pack needed).
  • + 0
 This one goes to eleven!!!
  • + 2
DT Swiss wheels, and a Transition is too legit to quit!
  • + 2
+1 Tahnee's bike is the best
  • + 5
 Agreed.
No offense to my American brothers/sisters, but a lot of time when I see their stuff done up in stars and stripes it reminds me of clown gear. (Maybe it was all those childhood years of watching the Harlem Globetrotters.)
  • + 2
@richierocket: No fanny pack? Where do you keep your tools for the trails?
  • + 3
Transition has yet to make a bad looking bike.. Last year's bike/paintjob was incredible (especially in person) too but I like the simple n sexy approach. Glad they can support one of the radest riders out there!

@sebmx: anything with tahnee on top is better mate, i would be much better with her on top
  • + 0
 @yxbix: totally !!!!
  • - 1
Yea, but how much sicker would Tahnee's bike look with polished or chrome rims, or cranks? In fact, I didn't see any custom finish components apart from stickers. Everything is in that "mass production black" finish that's somewhere in between flat and gloss, that everything comes in these days. Remember when high end components used to actually stand out because they were polished/chrome, or colored, or a smooth flat black, or high gloss black? This cost saving wishy washy black has become boring, I want high end to look like high end again.
  • + 59
Sam Hill for the win haha
  • + 8
in Jamaica black, gold & greeeeeeeen
  • + 12
Please let him win on a single crown fork, or at least top 5. That would absolutely just make it for this track.
  • + 1
I wonder he will handle that big rock garden.
  • + 2
Sam will pedal flat to medal in the last section of Cairns
  • + 5
@cikudh: It'd be fun to watch if he qualifies low, gets a great run and then just hangs out in the hot seat right until the end.
  • + 4
@pyromaniac: no qualy. its the world champs. but he will start early cause of the UCI ranking.....
  • + 3
@schlockinz: Aussies absolutely can do that! Just like Jared Graves did in 2014!
  • + 1
@schlockinz: Is 20mm really that bike of a difference? His lyric is 180mm and his boxxer is 200mm.
  • + 1
 @21Racing: :o
I forgot, you're right!
  • + 2
@WolfStoneD: suspension travel not as much as not having the stiffness that a dual crown provides. Twisted stems are too real with the massive bits that trail bikes can handle these days.

Plz win Sam!!!
  • + 2
@WolfStoneD: It's not so much about the travel differences as it is about getting the bars lower and the headangle steeper....a little bit about the weight savings.
  • + 0
@loopie: ? What does that have to do with this course? Dude I replied to said "let him win on a single crown, that would make this track?

The nuke proof mega has a 65* angle with a 160mm fork, going up to 180 should put it around 64*. Which is 1* steeper than his Pulse. And most likely more slack than his bikes from his glory days back on Ironhorse.

For bar height was does a single crown have to do with anything, the dude has been killing it all year on all courses on this bike, why change anything for this track? If anything is bars are higher going to a 180mm fork from the 160mm.

Again he has been riding this bike all year on way more gnarly tracks than this, why wouldn't he ride this bike here. Single crown or not makes no difference. Single crown forks can handle way more gnarly tracks than this, so why go up a bike when you've been riding this one all year. Just like all the other dudes aren't going down a bike because this is a more "mellow track." Everyone is sticking to what they know and riding the bikes they have been on all year.
  • + 3
@JacobSpera: Don't see many twisted stems on the EWS on much longer and rougher days.
  • + 1
 @WolfStoneD: I was assuming things
  • + 32
mark this shit nsfw this is bikeporn!
  • + 26
That M16 is a work of art.
  • + 2
 Doesn't it look huge ????
  • + 15
 @scottlink: Thats what she said
  • + 4
@scottlink: Thought the samething! It really looks like a huge bike or a tiny mecanic
  • + 0
Never noticed before but the M16 and the V10 look incredibly similar in their suspension design. That m16 does have nice lines on it.
  • + 6
 @WaterBear: are you serious?
  • + 2
@WaterBear: that would be because they share the same suspension design along with the majority of the two brands ranges
  • + 22
I know I am going to get down voted hard but Sam Hill has a lot on the line. The EWS isn't over and he has worked his ass off to be on the top. I'm a little worried that he is risking an injury that might blow his ranking in the EWS.

To that note: I am excited to see him podium this weekend on a bike he has been racing Enduro on. If has proven one thing this season, its that you should never count him out.
  • + 1
 SAM FTW! STRAYA!
  • + 1
i agree! wanna see him mash it this weekend, but don't want him blowing it here and injuring himself and throwing away the ews chance!
  • + 21
 2nd thought:

Is the Scott Gambler in white the ultimate Rube Goldberg machine to implement rear wheel travel?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rube_Goldberg_machine
  • + 3
 Bahahahaha.

Like I said before: at least making it all one colour hides its usual linkage ugg-fest...
  • + 22
Brayton's Gambler is my favorite. Just looks super clean.
  • + 21
 *sighs...

Unzips...
  • + 16
 Horry sheet!
  • + 14
so Sam Hill is racing a single crown in Worlds @ Cairns; interesting!
  • + 20
He's running the entire enduro bike!

 @bartb: it's his mega.
  • + 9
All are top notch this year, but pivot came out swinging hot damn all those look fine!
  • + 1
Think all of Pivots are painted by Ali at FatCreations. he did Steve Peat's bikes for last years world cup rounds. The guy is incredible
  • + 9
'Nard Kerr's camo setup has got to be the sickest thing I have ever seen in the DH scene.
  • - 1
Sick ad in, it looks like someone has vomited all over it?
  • + 8
I will take Kerr's Pivot Thanks!
  • + 1
All those Pivots look sick with those paint jobs, not normally a fan of the std look, but these are off the hook, esp RPs All Black beast!
  • + 1
@Maverickdh00: Mav, the consummate Kiwi homer. Let's see Rupert throw down across the The Ditch.
  • + 3
 all those bikes 3 3 3
In particular though;
Tahnee Seagrave's Transition TR11 -> sick silver paint
Johann Pontgieter's YT Tues -> all round super finish. love the small touches.
Greg Minnaar's Santa Cruz V10 29-> please dont snap it this time!
Troy Brosnan's Canyon Sender -> anything with a kangaroo = win
  • + 7
Johann Pontgieter's YT Tues. Its Potgieter!!
  • + 1
 @Riyadh Dankie Meneer
  • + 5
Long way from Majik Forest! Looking awesome Pottie!
  • + 1
best bike easy,,,painted by eric Irmish
  • + 1
 Slick paint on that beast
  • + 2
one time! his bike looks insane in the SA colours!
  • + 1
 Lekker Pottie!!!!
  • + 5
Why haven't you included the one that's going to win?! Gwin's TUES looks incred.
  • + 2
Have you seen it? I was hoping for it to be in the very last picture... needless to say I was disappointed! :-/
  • + 4
 1. Johann Pontgieter (never even heard of him but that YT looks great)
2. Tahnee's Eleven - subtle and fast
3. Sam Hill's glitter-fest - party on a bike!
  • + 4
Pottie is a household name in the Western Cape/SA downhill scene... Been shredding for years.... F*kken B'yellville FTW!
  • + 1
@Spark24: appreciated! will watch for his name and that sick bike.
  • + 1
 Come to Bellviile and CY
Hope Pottie smashes it!!!@Spark24:
  • + 6
Shame Fearon's Operator didn't make into this cause its dooooope!
  • + 6
 #1 Nathan Hughes-Intense
#2 Bernard Kerr-Pivot
  • + 1
Kinda interesting that he's back on the alloy prototype
  • + 6
 Those Pivots are BOSS!
  • + 1
I'd take the all black Pivot if it could run a coil.

A bike/frame's lines speak way more than a bunch of fragile stickers and paint (though Santa Cruz's old "trans red" with a polished swing arm on a Bullit looked killer).

Nicest bike I've ever seen is that dude's custom/home done ball burnished Glory in the 2015 Glory thread...

The way the decals, Maxis and valve stems line up on Gregs wheels frustrate me.... Particularly the front!
  • + 1
As minute a point it is, I totally agree. Things need to line up for me. A little OCDish, I guess.
  • + 2
It's not just me with OCD then Smile
Johann Pontgieter's YT Tues jumped out at me - Maxxis needs to line with valve stem!
  • + 1
Have you seen Marshy's tool box?
  • + 2
@OriginalDonk: Yup. I work for a tool company. It made me shudder! I've met Marshy though, so it made sense...
  • + 2
I don't care what wheel size, I don't care what boost size, I don't care coil or air. Give me any ideas f those bikes and I'll be happy! Damn, this sport is awesome!! Lets get back to work now.
  • + 6
 Nick's looks sooo good.
  • + 2
Minnaar's winning bike. I'm for Greg or Sam Hill taking the win. Both awesome bikes and it is either the 29er DH or Sam's "enduro" machine. Comes down to that last sprint at the bottom.
  • + 5
The Swiss flag on Emilie Siegenthaler's bike is a really nice addition
  • + 2
Why is almost everybody using dtswiss ex471 (25mm internal width) instead of ex511 (30mm internal)? Isn't always wider better?
  • + 1
I bet most of them are on 2.5 rubber not 2.7. It gives the right amount of rounding to the tread, instead of having it square off. Less rotational weight, and feels quicker. I personally feel like rounder tires are a lot quicker and more maneuverable than squared off. Not so round that they feel like the side knobs are useless, but round enough to make the bike swing edge to edge quicker. That's my guess.
  • + 3
is it so wrong if i say that all the three pivot's (especially chapman's) give me a boner?
  • + 2
yeah there all sick but something about those Pivot Phoenix carbons make me want to start selling off other toys so I can get one, is there a term for people who have sex with bikes yet?
  • + 1
 @nummbr7: velophile maybe
  • + 3
Does anyone else think Myriam's Commencal is a beauty? Loving aluminum, and it looks so...purposeful.
  • + 1
The Commencal's almost had my third place position, they always do a really pro job with their graphics, though I feel like they are a little recycled this year from last. www.pinkbike.com/photo/13914803

Still highly competent bike decorators though, and yes the real METAL takes it up a notch. Brannigan's Commencal from last year was all-time.

  • + 3
Adam Braytons Gambler is definitely my favorite. Though I feel sorry for the mechanic that has to keep it clean.
  • + 4
Show Brook MacDonald's GT, his bike is SICK. He teased it on IG Stories
  • + 4
 Holy f*ck, that's the winner. \m/
  • + 4
Brayton has the sexiest one fo sho , just love the simplecity

That M-16 looks mighty nice to me!

"Nik Nestoroff" it's right there on the frame.
  • + 4
Yup black still looks the best.
  • + 4
 yeah bike is clean.
  • + 1
@onemanarmy: and the kit is brand new.
  • + 1
Wow, Tahnee's #AllBlack transition is hot, but Brayton's Snow white Gambler took my heart, it makes me think about doing bad things (but with love)
  • + 1
 You velophile...
  • + 2
Where is Jack Moir's one-of-a-kind carbon Intense 29er? I would love to see a carbon repaint of that
  • + 1
We will work to get it in the coming days!
  • + 2
It's on his Instagram, black with neon green highlights. Looks amazing!
  • + 2
I got a photo of it today... You should see it soon or check his Instagram
  • + 2
New sram eagle DH cassette on Myriam Nicole's supreme? Or maybe just an eagle cassette with some cogs removed?
  • + 2
SRAM often makes some custom golden parts for the occasion. I think it's just a SRAM 7sp DH Cassette with "gold" coating.
  • + 1
Cassette is the same..... something else is different though. Take a second look at that derailleur.
  • + 1
@GingaCal: I can see 7 speed written on it. Maybe it has custom jockeywheels ?
  • + 1
@evildos: Still 7 speed, looks more similar to the new eagle stuff though
  • + 3
someone turn Luca Shaw's clutch on!
  • + 3
I hope Tahnee wears a silver one piece kit that matches the bike
  • + 1
She's more likely to be in the red white and blue GB kit!
  • + 2
Lovin all the bass boat metal flake people are rockin these days
  • + 1
They're all nice looking, but nothing beats Steve Peat's bikes from last year.
  • + 2
Lots of semi-slicks on the rear. Worked for Loic last time.
  • + 2
Hey looks like some inline Fox Float X2 on Cube Bikes
  • + 3
 Boner happens!
  • + 2
Would love to see Mick and Tracy do well this year.
  • + 3
 Luca's V10. Definitely.
  • + 1
that one bike with the USA flag on it should also have a cop beating up someone
  • + 2
The Norco is the best looking rig in the world right now. Love it.
  • + 2
Is Dean's bike standing tall or his mechanic small...?
  • + 2
 What about Jack Moir's bike
  • + 2
So Dean Lucas gets Moir's hand-me-down aluminum proto 29er...
  • + 2
No, Dean's been on an alu proto all year too, only Jack has the carbon one for now
  • + 1
Looks like Santa Cruz spent all the paint budget on gregs bike! Poor Lucas
  • + 1
Hey Pinkbike, where the f*ck are all the Canadian bikes!?
  • + 1
Jake Moir's Carbon Intense 29er is sic!
  • + 1
Tahnee and Danny by far got my favorites
  • + 1
Is it me or do Sam's forks look bent?
  • + 2
 Kerr's rims.

  • + 1
V10 and m16 look crazy similar never noticed that omg
  • + 1
Maybe because intense licensed the linkage?
  • + 2
Just saw your comment, I agree. @onemanarmy: did not know that.
  • + 1
@onemanarmy: Santa Cruz and Intense both licensed the VPP patent. The patent has expired now anyway so it's not exclusive to anyone anymore
  • + 1
@JamesR2026: yeah thats why so many people are adapting it.
  • + 1
Are those 225mm rotors on Nick Nesteroff's Intense M16? They look big.
