I wonder how one gets permission to build in an abandoned mine from city or state. Unless you happen to own the mine... In which case it still seems like it would be a real pain in the a$$. Props to the owners / builders for working so hard to build stuff we love to play on. Now I'm curious if there is any good riding in Kentucky up above on the terrafirma??

In college I worked as a tour guide and thought it would be a great place for biking. Then they created the race (www.minersrevenge.com) now this and rays! Good news the mid west, now biking is year round!

I've always wanted to do the Adventure Mine tour. Plus I've heard their trails are super technical and rocky (not counting the mine part of the race).

Seems like the trail section is really fun, and it's nice to see someone riding like a normal person, instead of the superhuman riding we see here ad nauseum. I get zero stoke from seeing someone do something I'll never be able to do, but I do enjoy seeing someone with solid riding skills having a good time.

I get soooo much stoke from watching stuff i can't do! Macaskill, any WC rider edit, any slopestyle edit, how do you not get any stoke?? Watching riders who are better than me gives me more stoke than Protour's got neg props

Nice riding, Rob. It's easily the best representation of the park I've seen. They should've had you film this earlier and used it for promotion. I was down there on Sunday while you were shooting, BTW. I was the fool jumping the black fatbike(the only fatbike).

Ever ride DJ's at night? Even with adequate lighting the shadows play tricks on your eyes. I'm curious as to what that's like there given it's somewhat the same scenario with shadows casted.

I changed bikes - from my trail bike 29er Spectral to my dirt jump bike Stitched. So when I ride Dirtjumps i ride in Jeans and T-shirt and different helmet.

How is the ventilation? It seems like with a bunch of riders you would be breathing in dirt the entire time. It looks pretty hazy in there.

The entrance is huge and there´s a natural ventilation through the cavern. If there´s a temperature difference between in- and outside it get´s slightly foggy.

On a busy weekend, the section housing the main jump lines gets pretty thick with dust. As in, you'll feel the grit in your teeth and blow brown stuff out your nose when you leave. It settles fairly quickly after the numbers drop. They water quite often, but that section could use a constant mist like the veggies at the supermarket.

@infinitetrails I have talked to them as well and have even scooped a few shovel fulls of dirt inside there.....but that doesn't change the fact that they are still only open 10-6 week and 10-8 on weekends with no season pass offerings. I can go into detail and list the hours of Rays, Burlington, Joyride, Wheelmill, etc...but you have the internet, and can also see that the mission statements of the other bike parks are "committed to building better riders"...After being inside there and talking to the owners---I don't see it being a skill building/community bike park--but a travel destination to be paired with the MegaCavern zip lines/tours. So again, I will boycott them until I see the different trend you speak of (and I hope dearly for)....So, I'm not shitting on your up beat optimism for this place--I'm just a little older and perhaps a bit jaded--and spoiled as I used to live across the street from Valmont bike park...so Cheers back to you man--happy riding

@iamamodel Believe me bro, I understand what you are saying....But also believe me when I say that I've made myself heard and made myself known...I would rather spend my time/effort/money on our projected outdoor mountain bike park--called Turkey Run--and get them the resources for pump tracks, progressive trails, etc....There is just too much talent going to waste in the middle of this country and they need access--that's all I'm saying
