For more than 15 years, Dakine has designed Builder's Packs to help the hardy souls build and maintain trails around the world. By partnering with some of the world's foremost trail builders, including the crew at Trans-Cascadia, Dakine has taken their feedback to refine and expand this legendary backpack. New for 2023, Dakine is excited to introduce an all new 25L pack, as well as some key refinements on the classic 40L pack. Dakine is proud to play a role in building and maintaining the sacred places we all love and salutes the trail builders who put in the hardwork for everyone to enjoy.

 I have had the original Dakine builder pack for a Loooong time, it's a fantastic heavy duty pack that has worked amazing over the years for carrying tools. I recently purchased the trail boss tool you see in the photo. I just throw that thing in the pack sometimes it would be cool to not having it bang around. Props to Dakine for bringing this thing back, more pack companies should do it.

 Same here. My only complaint has been that it's bigger than I ever need. The 25L looks perfect.

 I love the idea of one of these packs, but the reality is I carry my gear out in a raggedy ass Wenger pack I bought for £25 10 years ago and a blue tarp bag that cost about £2. I'm sure one of these is better made but hey, duct tape is cheap too.

 Yup, same here, mines is a cheapo £15 amazon one. To be fair i've Modded it a touch to cope with hand saws and loppers but that costs next to nothing.

Ive always been super keen to have a dedicated "trail building" bag only for the cost to dissolve my excitement instantly.

It's literally gonna get covered in rain, mud, mashed hrough greenery and sharp dirty tool carried on it and carry other peoples rubbish..... its like when folk spend £20+ on a toilet brush ...... its a tool for a shitty job that nobody sees you using.

 I think these are oriented directly at the pro builder market. The trailbuilding company I used to work for had a regular discount code for these same packs. They've definitely got a good reputation from guys using them 5 days a week

 Thank you, to all the trail builders who put work into these trails. The GP provide an amazing, (relatively) backcountry experience, but lots of them are on the edge of being swallowed back up by the forest. These kinds of efforts keep this riding resource alive.

 Got the Evoc chainsaw bag last summer and it makes maintenance a lot easier. Use to have to carry the saw separately on foot but now it's just normal riding. Don't need to really sacrifice time to clear logs off trails. Just ride with the chainsaw. Only problem is on steep sections the blade hits the back of the helmet but that's a small fraction of trails.

 For longer rides with a saw I usually take the bar off, then it sits a lot lower and whacks the helmet less. Just takes a moment to put it back on, and makes sure you don't forget the scrench Smile

 I have tried out both the EVOC and Dakine Trail builders backpacks and have found my old MEC snowboarding backpack works better. Bought a few straps externally to carry 2 ea. 5 gallon buckets and my 600mm long folding pull saw.

 This looks interesting. I can't quite tell if it's really well designed and awesome, or overly complicated and works better on paper than it does in real life.

It kinda looks like the saw carry on the 25L makes it tricky to get the saw out for quick cuts. Also looks like the storage compartment sits right on top of the saw's (hot) exhaust. The wing pockets look nice though, and I like the general premise of a modular pack.

 Hope it works better than the last one they came out with. The Dakine pack that I bought wouldn’t fit my chainsaw properly. Also the shoulder straps were too narrow, very disappointing.

 Totally agree. Doesn't hold my saw in way efficiently. The OG pack was way better.

 Now that I’ve gotten off the sauce the my 40l seems overkill.
You can easily carry 12+ beers and all the other stuff listed for anyone that’s wondering.

 Pretty awesome you can roll around with a chainsaw - handy to have if you lose your bottle opener

 The original builder bag was sweet, not a fan of the hanging placenta style shovel holders, i prefered the simple strap
