Mountain of Hell is a mythic mass start race that starts at 3200 meters high on a glacier in Les 2 Alpes, that brings together amateurs and professionals looking to push their limits.
This year was especially crazy with the glacier being very long and hard packed and riders hitting a top speed of 110km/h. A frozen glacier also means big crashes and the high possibility of being ridden over in this case.
The course takes you down 2500m and goes through the famous glacier where everything can happen, sharp and loose rocks, a couple of uphills that make you wish you had trained in high altitude, long singletracks and a ride down a pedestrian track that is super tight and steep. Add to that the lack of oxygen at the top and a mass start and you have this insane race.
But what does it really take to survive this hell of a race?
You'll find out in the first episode of the second season of 'This is UR world.' We followed Fabien Cousinié and other racers to learn about the preparation and the team behind this event. Come onboard this hell of a race and we hope you'll want to take on the challenge.
Look out for episode two next Friday. Check the full schedule

2) Great vid of the team riders, both of them, really made you root for them, especially Isabeau as she was constantly held up by blokes slower than her.
3) Wish I were still young/ fit/ free of baggage enough to take part myself.
these kinds of races do look very very fun though
Is Isabeau with polygon now?
