Ten For Trails Win A Custom Santa Cruz - Shimano XTR Equipped Dream Bike

Ten For Trails: Each $10 donation increases your chance of winning a custom Santa Cruz - Shimano XTR dream bike of your size and choice and 10% of Ten for Trails proceeds will be donated to the trail advocacy group of your choice. The remaining proceeds will benefit the trail advocacy efforts of the Trans-Cascadia team.

The primary goal of the Trans-Cascadia event has always been to share the incredibly unique trail systems of the Pacific Northwest Cascade mountain range with the world – as well as give back to the local community through Trail Work, Project Funding and support of the local economy. As Nick Gibson explains, “in one sentence, our goal is to create a world-class event in our back yard that also gives back to our community.”

Trans-Cascdia, a non-profit organization in their first year invested 500 hours of trail building hours and raised $2800 for the Oakridge trail network. In 2016, they have logged over 1000 trail building hours, have invested in a tool library for local trail organizations to use, and hired trail boss, Derrick Bell, to guide their efforts.

This year Santa Cruz Bicycles came onboard as Bike title sponsor and have been heavily involved with Trans-Cascadia’s trail advocacy efforts – participating in build weekends and helping to raise awareness and funds.

I love drawings like this, they put the money right back into the trails we ride and a few guys/gals get some sweet bikes! I would love to see more of this happening on some Mid Western soil. With that being said you will still get ten of my dollars!

Are all three bikes being given away or is there only one winner and he gets to choose one?

"In taking advocacy to a higher level, Trans-Cascadia will give away a custom Santa Cruz Bike to one of their donors, the winner's choice of a Bronson, a Nomad, or a Hightower. "

Pretty sure it's one winner, and _they_ get to choose.

best $10 bike I've ever seen!
  • 1 0
 @WayneParsons: Ill second that!!! Haha
  • 11 0
Awesome, so which countries are eligible? All donations are in USD? And not that it matters too much since only credit cards are accepted, but is it open to all ages? And only the winner decides which advocacy group the 10% go to? So it could go to a group outside of the States? Who's paying shipping, tax & duty? Went looking for official terms and conditions but they're nowhere to be found.

Sweet bike but where are all the legally required details? Please post the terms! I want this bike on my trails.

I have seen the benefit of all this hard work first-hand already in the 2016 riding season. Derrick and Kevin are out there all year and every bit of help they get makes a huge difference. Thanks so much to @TransCascadia and their sponsors for putting together this fundraiser that we all benefit from!

No really, everyone. You can ride these trails any time (well, when it's dry and clear of deadfall, as you saw in the video), either pedaling on your own, or with a shuttle from Cog Wild or Oregon Adventures, at an event like Mountain Bike Oregon, or races like the Cascade Cream Puff or the Trans-Cascadia.

Dig deep, put some money in, and everyone wins! Plus maybe you could win a bike.

I don't understand why there is such a "donation" vibe to the messaging, isn't TRANS-CASCADIA Inc., the organizer, a for-profit entity? Therefore, no donation receipt will be issued, as there is no charitable registration.

I see that they are channeling 10% through to the trail organization of my choice, which is fantastic, but at the core isn't this just a raffle by a for-profit group?

Just curious.

Thanks!

"Trans-Cascdia [sic], a non-profit organization in their first year invested 500 hours of trail building hours and raised $2800 for the Oakridge trail network."

Where are you getting for-profit from? Is the above a lie?
  • 3 0
Hey Mayel - Trans-Cascadia is a non-profit organization, check us out at trans-cascadia.com for more info.
  • 2 0
 @TransCascadia: Sweet, thnaks for replying.
  • 2 0
@shortcuttomoncton: the Inc. part. Inc. often is designated as for profit. Which is why I asked.

Based on @TransCascadia 's statement, it's been clarified that TS is a not-for-profit corporations.

If you want to discuss PM me.

I hope that your fundraiser is successful, money for trails is always a good cause.

Donated for a good cause! love when sponsors put up to help out the trails! My local trails where helped out by ibis last year(Bragg creek area) Alberta Canada and thought how awesome of a company Ibis was for helping out. Way to go guys
  • 8 2
 dentist's wet dream !
  • 1 0
Agreed!! If you have money you can't ride!!
  • 2 1
I'm putting a Bell Super 2R Medium sized helmet up for sale that has been barely used. It just doesn't jive with my head quite right and a pair of hip surgeries this past winter have limited my riding this season so it has seen minimal use. All proceeds have already been donated to the aforementioned above trails.

It's more likely that I will win this contest, than I will ever have the money to buy one of these bikes
  • 1 0
"Each bike was custom built with no expense spared" they weren't joking, look at the quality of those zip ties! haha...sorry too OCD about my bikes...no doubt they're sweet tho
  • 1 0
I live in the PNW. While it is highly unlikely that I'll win such a beautiful bike, I'll donate because I love MTB in the woods, on trails.

Now, only if I had 2500 $10 bills I'd probably win!!
  • 6 2
 probably msrp $20,000

This is great. Potentially an awesome bike and better trails? AND you're making the race that much better for those who are riding in it. Why wouldnt you want to donate? Big Grin
  • 1 0
Guys please reply how much each person is donating, I just need to make sure I win. JK, this is a great cause, I would donate if they would take PayPal.

Good feedback on paypal, next time for sure... I can tell you the company we use to transact is called Stripe.... they're a huge established company and trust worthy for transactions. Do it!
  • 1 0

 SEAHAWKS!!!!
  • 1 0
Entering. Just curiously ... where is the winner announced? Here? Or the TransCascadia site? Some T & C's would be ace. E.g. whether delivery is included, etc.
  • 3 0
We definitly missed a few of the details. Fact: This all doesn't happen without the MTB community rallying... the winner will receive the bike without any hassles... we'll handle freight and duty in the case of a winner outside the us. No hidden agenda, only fresh bikes and funds for the trails!
  • 2 0
sort of a dream bike, my dream bike fly's.
  • 1 0
This is good stuff. This is what makes our sport, trail access and overall fun factor rise with people that get things done.
  • 3 1
Love the PNW colors. Full on Seahawks.

  • 1 0
Worth it, even if you don't win!
  • 1 0
Just donated and entered but it says "Registration is full"?
  • 1 0
Different things. Registration for the race (in 2 weeks I think?) is full. Ten for Trails is a fundraiser and raffle for trail building / maintenance. Presumably racers will be on the trails that get built/maintained, so there's overlap.
  • 1 0
 Designers must be Seahawks fans!
