bigquotesSigning to Troy Lee Designs is a major milestone achievement for me. As a kid, I grew up BMX racing and saw TLD all over the race tracks so wearing their top-shelf helmets and iconic designs are a big thrill for me.Brad Simms

 Dude has a business head as well as amazingly powerful bike skills. Gotta respect that

 Wow a bmx rider with a helmet sponsor, seems like two polar opposites come together, hope that helmet enjoys a nice life sitting on a shelf somewhere haha

 Came here for mountain bikers finding the one thing they can put BMXers down on, was not disappointed.

 Hope this means he'll wear a helmet in his BMX riding too.

 Not gonna lie, after all the talk of his bmx "background"...was hoping to see some clips of what he's doing in MTB. Everytime i watch BMX videos my knees and concussions hurt. Serious respect though.

 he's a phenomenally good BMX'er, and a pretty meh MTB'er.
  • 4 0
 @blackercanyons: That's perfect... I'm also a pretty meh mtb'er! I seriously doubt that will be for long if he finds passion it it though. Some people are able to just become one with their bikes and he's obviously one of them.

 @blackercanyons: if he is a pretty meh MTBer then what do you make of dads in Friday Fails?
  • 5 1
 @blackercanyons: He's literally just started in MTB - and he's already hitting Rampage size features and doing bunnyhop supermans. Give him a couple years he'll be unreal
  • 2 1
 @tom666: I think it is a matter of perspective and riding with different people form different disciplines, A seasoned BMXer will reach far higher level in any skillbased discipline of MTB within a year than someone with XC background given same time. Here we have a fricking elite BMXer, he'll rip. He surely has prime genetics given how far he got with his skill. Raced BMX - fitness aspect of MTB is not on the list of his problems.

From a pure PR perspective for the brand such riders are gold - people who can send stuff with style, who are very creative, can do wonders out of a rock on a trail will generate loads of WOW content.

To sum up, we should get more and more people with BMX background (ekhem). I believe they can motivate folks to practice riding skill, particularly jumping skill. It's the best insurance policy against innjuries one can have. Athletes like Brad are at the forefront of it.

 @blackercanyons: lmfao he just got an MTB in the last half of a year. jesus christ I can't stand the comment sections anymore
  • 3 1
 @blackercanyons: you're a pretty meh troll
  • 1 3
 @ream720: yet he’s a pro mtb’er. That’s the point.

 @calmWAKI: 1: bad comparison, 2: they are trash

 What a beauty!

 Awesome rider. He really pushes his limits, and believes in showing the younger riders. Would loke if PB did a better story on him. Congratulations Brad.
  • 4 0
 I met him at Rampage last fall and saw a clip of him sending the Bender Sender with Anthony Napolitan no prob. Cool guy, can’t wait to see him shred more MTB!

 Pbbttt, stop being so elitist…..

Rob Roskopp had a skateboarding background,
Shaun Palmer had a snowboarding background,
Brian Lopes had a bmx background,
Josh Carlson had a moto background,

We all started somewhere….

 Anyone else notice it looks like the helmet is not secured (chin strap undone) in both photos of him riding? I'll never understand peoples opposition to wearing a helmet whether it be no helmet at all or leaving the chin strap undone.

 Technically burly……his style reminds me of pro skateboarders Kareem Campbell, Gershon Mosly & Sean Sheffey.

 Specialized needs to sign him as an ambassador for Status line. This guy fits profile like no one else.

 The pure strength he has is wild

 So stoked for this dude. Wasn't getting his dues in the BMX industry and now he's already sending it pretty big on the mtb.

 Also no back-brace, no neck-brace, no knee pads, no elbow pads, no brakes, no Go-Pro, no Strava, no flip-chip, no Kashima, cos it's his fucking choice.
