Step 1: Buy a bike
Step 2: Buy a helmet
Step 3: Enter an Enduro event that has also been entered by Fabien Barel
Step 4: Turn up
Step 5: Wave to Fabien as he rides past you.

Haha. He'd only ride past me in the paddock, from the very start of the race. He will have gone too fast to even consider waving to.

I spent last summer improving my riding position and turning technique. This made me good enough to ride the downhill world cup in Hafjell. The point is that this video is great for most riders out there if they use great tips to improve their riding!
  • + 12
This was funny with some great jabs at the whole enduro craze, and actually had some good cornering instruction and visuals. The freeze frames were helpful. They could have done some freeze frames of the incorrect body positions as well to further highlight what not to do.
How to enduro:
1. Wear bright colors, preferably with your name on your jersey to make yourself stand out. Until someone else is wearing the same bright colors with their name, then resort to one of your other brightly colored kits, but this time without your name so the other guy looks like a goon.
2. Burn money
3. Go downhill without being very good at it
4. Enduro!

You got it. Glad the message came through. LOL.
  • + 1
Got it loud and clear :-)
Some people just cant appreciate a good joke dammit. Oh well. Jokes on them.

Thanks for the good laugh and great instruction.

 1st "maximum" @ 2:06…
I was betting good money it be way earlier.
  • + 2
You should have seen what ended up on the cutting room floor in edit...:-)
  • + 6
A riding skills day with fabien would be allright for a birthday present. Thanks.
  • + 5
This video really helps to endure this whole Enduro thing.
  • + 5
That was awesome Dan! Well scripted and ejumacational, if that is a word.
  • + 5
It is a word but you spelt it wrong. It's edjamakayshonall
  • + 5
 Thanks for the clairifikayshun.
  • + 3
Thanks, Was a laugh doing it too, which I think is what mountain biking is about. At least I think so.
  • + 1
Awesome, loving it! I'm gonna go outside and ride, right now. Hang on, it's Friday, and it's getting dark. I'll go to the pub. Ride tomorrow. Wait, I'll ride to the pub. Brilliant! See you there. Thanks Dan, great video, love your style, keep up the great work, inspiring me to ride, to the pub.

Fabien's tutorials are amazing, i learnt almost everything with them
  • + 0
funny that. I learned by riding my bike, riding with better faster riders, and pushing myself
  • + 2
I would spent an extra $$$ just to have some one on one with one of those pro-super-nice athletes rather than a fancy bling component on my ride... Just saying
  • + 2
Hey serious props for giving practical advice that anyone who is fast is doing anyway, and everyone can stand to get better at. Also funny. great job!
  • + 4
Enduro, can we just ride our mt. bikes without racing?
  • + 4
Yep, but Fabien's pointers are worth listening too, even if its just to sharpen up your own riding ability... I know, I need it myself!
  • + 3
I just want Canyon bikes in the US.
  • + 2
 Looks like a Mavic´s advertisement.
  • + 3
top Endurers wear lots of Mavic. yellow shoes are particularly de rigeur for the Endurer and give the appearance of being faster
  • + 2
While others knew even before this vid that pro riders get sponsored.
  • + 2
Mavic sponsor Fabien, and help me out a lot, so I thought it would be fun to just wear Mavic... without us both donning the Mavic garb, my 'name-on-back-of jersey' gag wouldnt have worked. Or maybe it didnt anyway LOL. Their kit is damn good too.. I use it a lot out of choice on my backcountry multidayers.
  • + 1
"Okay that's quite a lot for me to take at once, I got a small brain." hahaha! You tell me!
  • + 2
I'll try my hand at bareling round corners!
  • + 2
 oh man, funny as always!!!
  • + 1
lol dumping his medals in the trash!!! "wont be needing these anymore"!!!!!
  • + 1
just like to say, using whats said in this has cut my local track time by 20% !!! cheers buddy!!
  • + 3
 Awesome as usual, Dan!!
  • + 0
Nice video Dan! I learnd that enduro is almost like BMX...but with suspension!
  • + 1
Screenshotted all those turns, now THAT was a task
  • + 1
I wonder if they shuttled to that spot?
  • + 1
Nope, rode, and then we ditched the cameras and rode some more.
  • + 1
DanMilner this was an absolute riot! Don't ever change.
  • + 0
So Enduro..................can this word stop being used? kthnx
  • + 0
Yeah, everybody should be told! Start with Barel, he used it at 01:00 min. I bet he really would be amazed to know.... Wink
  • + 2
Whaaaat? You cannot put the end into enduro.
  • - 1
Not gonna lie, that guy interviewing annoys the piss out of me. His interview of tracey mosley was the worst.
  • + 21
Hes a cool guy man, his interviewing style is different but its no big deal is it. I abused him in a post before when he interviewed The Claw and he totally disarmed me with a "nice reply" and Ive had respec ever since. And at the end of the day, you dont have to watch do you.
  • + 13
Funniest Milner episode yet. His humour is really growing on me plus I love his epic back country trips. This one was also kind of useful info wise.
  • + 10
Really? I love Dan Milner, very funny guy!
  • + 1
The only problem with his episodes is that they are not frequent enough, I love his trail ninja stuff, they are an excellent watch.
  • + 8
Well I guess my little films are like marmite. I mean they are to love or hate, rather than being thick and salty. I just try to put some humour into this oh-so serious sport of ours. Hashtag enduro. Anyway I don't think Tracy's interview was the worst.. I have done much worse than that one. Anyhoo.. no more interviews.. just trail ninja guides and those pesky photo stories from far flung corners of the globe from here on from me. Most will annoy someone, somewhere. I hope.
  • + 2
Dan, I think my assessment was a little harsh as I've only seen the Tracey Mosley video and I didnt actually mind this one at all. And i fluctuated between being annoyed and laughing during the Mosely interview so I wouldnt take it too personally. Keep doing your interviews, I'd hate to think my ill thought out words would discourage someone from doing something they and others enjoy. Anyway I still watched the whole thing and will probably watch all of them so keep doing it your way.

On another note you can be satisfied that I actually felt bad about bad mouthing another person to the extent that I dreamt about you last night, You genuinely appeared in a dream of mine last night and made me feel guilty about what i wrote. Like you have just done in reality now. I'm not even lying here.

How weird am I?
  • + 4
You have disturbed me, ha ha. I like to think people dream about me, but in a good way. BTW what was I wearing? Probably Mavic kit and a helmet on at a jaunty angle. No offence taken dont worry, I know my humour is a little err, different (kind of weird how these pro riders keep coming back to me to come on my trips). I guess I am too influenced by the uneasy comedy of Ricky Gervais/Pilkington/Steve Coogan kind of stuff. Anyway stay tuned.. got some bangin' episodes coming up.. just got back from some crazy antics in North Argentina with Hans Rey for starters...
  • + 1
Sounds like fun to me, I'l pay my own way, Yannick Bisson
  • + 1
 Oo la la!!!
  • - 1
I think it was to show you how to handle a bike...maybe I missed something...also possible attempt at humor?,,,
  • + 12
You're American it's ok, it was humor.
  • + 4
It was funny as hell. "Let's see this Jedi Knight do it." I watched it twice because it was hilarious.
  • + 2
Sorry, that was my poor attempt at humor, sarcasm, lol.fail!
  • + 0
 Bazinga :-D
  • - 2
 is enduro a road bike?
  • - 2
you clowns are aware Enduro is a racing format, not a riding style?
  • + 23
Why would clowns know that, huh?
  • + 5
 Enduro is a lifestyle, haha
  • + 1
are you aware that in real life nobody cares about that fact?
  • + 1
I'm pretty sure i'm living in real life...
