Video: Remy Metailler Follows Kirk McDowall Down Rusty Trombone & Blood, Sweat and Fear in Pemberton

Sep 25, 2019
by Rémy Métailler

My first video in 4k. Hopefully, the quality is improved for this amazing trail!

The same rider as last week as you guys loved his riding! I'm super pumped on how we rode this trail considering it was quite slippery in some sections.

Kirk McDowall (@kirkmcdowall) is 2 times Canadian Champion of Downhill and was 15th at World Champ this year, which is why he rides so good. I love the speed, the few gaps, line choices but also the tech part of these two trails.

Find out more about Rusty Trombone and Blood, Sweat and Fear here

If you enjoyed this trail and want to ride it, I advise you to join the Pemberton Off Road Cycling Association:https://www.porcabikes.com this way you will be able to support trails like this one!

Thanks a lot to the trail builders for the work!

@remymetailler: That Brodie 8 Ball is sweet!

@jaydawg69: Would love to ride that thing. But it will conflict with sponsors. Will have to chat about it! My GF has an old Knot from 95. That would be sweet to race on that!

@remymetailler: I think the fans would be happy enough to see you ride your Cube down it.

@jaydawg69: I like your name. I ll do one for you then.

@remymetailler: If your sponsors stop you from riding an ancient bike from a brand that doesn't even sell mountain bikes anymore... you need new sponsors. On the contrary, I would think your sponsors would be stoked on the exposure a rider (and their bike) gets from doing a PinkBike Hotlap.

@islandforlife: no one will stop me, but the polite and respectful thing is to ask. It's like when you want to go out with the boys you ask your girlfriend first to avoid any future issues..

Remy! Thanks for doing these. Super fun to watch and and I love the POV to see how someone in front rides the trail. Getting all kinds of tips from these vids! Now get your ass over to Vancouver Island and do a preview here! Big Grin

Except "Skills w/ Phil"... he's kind of a weird dude but he's a good guy and he f*cking shreds... GT picked him up this year (he's a former DH racer), should watch his lastest videos, one, following Wyn Masters down Whistler and then following (and keeping up) with a bunch pro DH guys on his trail bike.

@islandforlife:He came 17th at the US Open DH recently. He beat AG. and lot of other pros. www.rootsandrain.com/race7778/2019-sep-14-us-open-us-open-dh-big-bear-lake-ca/results/#hprom

Don't forget Nate Hills. He was one of the first mtb youtuber, and still shred like a boss, even if he don't have the style of Remy.

Remy is not Human bro.. Luv all his video.. I can watchs any youtubers anymore if u cant jump or roll a rock and I hate when they said that "its above my pay grade". Why should I watch someone chicken out.

5min26 is the best part! They're going so fast on a super steep and loose trail and Remy ''hey there's people there... how are you doing?'' while he continues riding down as fast!!! hahaha

Also funny as he looks like he could always go faster! It's funny, I'm so close.... that sounded like a polite ''go faster man!'' while already going at mach 10! And he does everything with his ''small'' 150mm bike!!! What a beast! Big Grin

"Kirk McDowall (@kirkmcdowall) is 2 times Canadian Champion of Downhill and was 15th at World Champ this year, which is why he rides so good", yeah, for sure... and you follow him so close that I guess you'd not be ridiculous on the DH race world class!
