After Trailforks.com was launched by Pinkbike in the fall of 2014, the next step was collecting a critical amount of data and trail coverage in order to create the Trailforks app. About a year later, in September of 2015, the Trailforks mobile app was released and has now exceeded over 500,000 downloads.
Since its inception with 30,000 trails in 2015, the Trailforks database has also seen massive growth, increasing to over 90,000 registered trails. Trailforks has also doubled its 209,000 downloads from September of 2016 to now seeing over 500,000 downloads in July of 2017 with trail tracking and recording as one of its main features. Trailforks continues to see increased growth in content activity, trail reports added, and trails added per month, with Whakarewarewa Forest at Rotorua having the most trails at 191 uploaded. There are over 1.6 million ride logs, 5.4 million check ins, and over 170,000 trail reports.
