Troy Brosnan was invited up to Cairns for a week by RideCairns & Tropical Tourism North Queensland. Over the course of the week, Troy got to sample the finest attractions, sights and trails on offer in Tropical North Queensland in the lead up to the Cairns UCI World-Cup held in April. AJ Hackett Cairns, Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, Raging Thunder Ballooning, Passions of Paradise, Hartleys Creek Crocodile Adventures (just to name a few) all welcomed Troy during his stay to experience Cairns in all its sun soaked glory - a real far cry as to what greeted spectators and athletes during the 2014 World Cup.
In between cuddling koalas, feeding salt water crocodiles, jumping off rock pools and exploring underwater coral castles on the Great Barrier Reef; Troy was shown the full array of trails on offer, including the incredible Atherton Forest Mountain Bike Park, and of course a 1-on-1 session with the unique and historic Cairns UCI World-Cup DH course. As we move into the 2016 Cairns UCI World-Cup and 2017 UCI World-Championships; we look forward not only to seeing Troy and all other athletes back in our playground, but also to playing host to the thousands of visitors who hit the ground not only for the event, but for a slice of the Tropical North Queensland lifestyle.
This comes as perfect timing where we enter the 100 days-to-go countdown to our World-Cup round. And if you would like to see how Troy would ride the Worlds DH course in the dry... Stay tuned for Part 2, coming Sunday 18th January!
