Troy Brosnan's Crankworx Crushing Canyon Sender - Bike Check

Troy Brosnan Canadian Open DH - Winning Bike
Troy Brosnan's Canyon Sender

It only took two minutes, and forty-six seconds for Australian Troy Brosnan to explain how to ride loose and fast at Crankworx Whistler. Newcomer Bruce Klein opened the ceremonies with a scorching run down the Canadian Open course that sent eight of the top ten seeds back to summer school. Klein then politely gave up his seat to Sam Blenkinsop, who kindly introduced Saturday's key speaker, who hopped onto his Canyon Sender and delivered a comprehensive graduate course in dry-condition downhill racing to a crowded, open-air auditorium. Brosnan was in another league, clocking a four point eleven-second margin on course where one second seems like eternity.
Hoping the roots and making quick work of the technical lower woods Troy would carry maximum speed out onto the flat lower slopes the fed into the finish.

Literally the most cryptic news article I've ever read. None of it makes any sense. If you say he clocked a 4.11 margain, that to me means he was 4.11 ahead of second place.

margins can be positive or negative. 4.11 seconds faster than Sam.
  • 59 3

Except the article says 4 MINUTES eleven seconds.....
  • 9 0
@RichardCunningham: The inclusion of the word "minute" is the problem : "clocking a four minute, eleven-second margin". Clearly an error of some sort, I thought perhaps it was trying, clumsily, to say a 4 minute run with an 11 second margin.
  • 7 1

Exactly, but the whole "back to school" analogies just confused me, they don't even make sense. Especially when PB doesn't post any times to put it into perspective. I mean if Brosnan was 4 minutes ahead of second place I guess it makes sense. But obviously that's not the case.

@robaussie99: Okay, we get it. He made a mistake. But take it easy on the guy. After all, he is old. There's no getting around that. We don't have to rub it in his face.

to much alcohol? to much weed? to much both?
4 minutes? your drunk go home

Holy cow, why all the down voting of Richard? It is very easy for us to point out mistakes. It is much harder to spend all day at an event, then prepare, write, and post articles. Cut Richard some slack!
  • 12 6
@carym: because he's arrogantly trying to defend himself instead of admitting the mistake?
  • 34 2
@azureblue: cough cough, um, 4.11 seconds. Long days and a drowsy proofer. Fixed

@RichardCunningham: oh no you don't, RICHARD!! Not so fast!! You may have fixed the typo (promptly) but we are no where NEAR f*cking finished!! We haven't even started, Richard!! Keep your head on a swivel, Richard!! We're coming for ya!

@RichardCunningham: If I can suggest some "must have" info that all bike checks need to include:
Rider height
Rider weight
Bike size
Suspension settings (if top secret, please ball park)
Tire pressures (if top secret, please ball park)
If adjustments/alterations are made, what exactly are they?

Thanks for the details, we love nerding out on it!
  • 4 1
@ka-brap: this is not a bike check, just some pictures of the bike it's easier like this.
this is a real bike check.,1757
Any way in all of my jobs a person that was not able to do shoot pictures and write correct a single paragraph was fired, special those ones that think are the king of the world and don't have the humility to admit an error or mistake.
no one is perfect even Jesus but daily mistakes on PB are getting weird.
  • 1 2
You guys know this was a joke, right?
  • 3 1
@Ryanrobinson1984: A joke is supposed to be funny tho... Better luck next time
  • 1 1
@mudmandhbrazil: "do shoot pictures", "write correct a single paragraph...", "special those that think are..." and "no one is perfect even Jesus but..." are all typos dude. Give the guy a break, he works hard!
  • 2 2
@mudmandhbrazil: @mudmandhbrazil: still being an ass I see.

Guess you missed this one

This is simply a quick winning bike feature after the race. Did you see a photo recap of the race or any event on vital from Crankwox? Nope

You come here to get all your news and photos, then complain and link to other sights.

Classy guy you are ;-)
  • 2 2
@davetrumpore: how does Pinkbike event think its a good idea to be associated with people like you?
  • 2 2
@moshelove: from the guy who called RC arrogant for making a spelling mistake... That's rich.

Go read your buddy mudmandhbrazil rants and raves on every post we work to create and get back to me.
  • 2 2
Robaussie99 said it was the most cryptic article he have ever read and that there was a MISTAKE saying minutes instead of second.
the arrogant non sense answer from RC got 65 props down cant you see that?
my answer saying PB employees think they are the king of the world got 3 props up? so there are people that think like me that PB need to get more attention and more professionalism.
then DAVE arrogant Thrumpore come and show his hate to persons that point constant mistakes on PB and then came mollow and ask arrogant Thrupore if PB events like to be assosiated to arrogant people like him.
do I miss something?
say I am sorry for a mistake is not a crime!
  • 2 2
@mudmandhbrazil: nothing was arrogant about RC's comment.

Your continued name calling, saying contributots are drunk or high, and lazy is not only arrogant but insulting and disrespectful.

What world do live in where you can behave like that and not get treated the same in return?

You get back what you put in... And what you put in is constant slander and insults.
  • 2 2
@davetrumpore: looks like the words "I am sorry for a mistake" will never come out of your mounth.
I just say one last word for you:
  • 1 1
 I mean your mouth
  • 2 2
@mudmandhbrazil: Wow dude, give it a rest already. Are you really that desperate to get an apology out of PB staff? These guys put in crazy long days running up and down the mountain taking photos in the blaring sun, pouring rain, and dust of Mordor only to then spend hours editing photos until 2am. Cut them some slack if they make a spelling error or a grammatical mistake. There are far more important things to focus your time and energy on. If you don't know of any, I would be happy to provide you with a short list.

PB testing an handlebar say that it has 20 DEGREES rise instead of mm
Put a picture of Loris Vergier and call the racer Loris VERIER
say that Greg Minnar was disqualified for entering the track in the same spot he was out of the track (wrong)
say Troy won the race by 4 minutes instead os seconds

this are small examples of mistakes that became natural in Pink Typo Bike. I am not complaining about grammatical spelling, I just dont accept a specialized media that wright wrong and give the apologies that they do it wrong because they are tired!!!
if you think your readers deserve that kind of text I am sorry I dont like it and think its pathetic to say they are tired and that they went to the trail raining with expensive material and blablabla. For me thats called a job and in any job employees do a hard work.
So in any Car Rally racing website the text will have tons of mistakes imagine caring the photo equipment for several kilometers in the rain or snow how tired they arrive in the office to make a text so they have the right to do it all wrong because they are tired?
  • 2 2
@mudmandhbrazil: reading comprehension is a thing. Minnaar (that's the proper spelling that you the spelling troll got wrong) stated he entered the track in the same spot and questioned/contested the validity of his DQ. Those are his words taken from a face to face conversation. Your criticism of this being reported as a "mistake" is based solely on your opinion, or constant agenda searching for any error you can find, and devoid of the fact that he spoke those actual words to journalists after the race. This was all stated in the article.

And though English is obviously not your first language, your responses here are so full of basic errors it begs to question how you can even begin to call out anyone else. Or how you even know what's right or wrong in the first place. Let alone throw a childish temper tantrum over it while hurling insults at people.
  • 2 1
@mudmandhbrazil: Then feel free to donate more money to them so they can hire more people to properly handle the work load. And did you just equate this website to a car racing website? Wow you are out of touch with reality.
  • 2 3
@ka-brap: donate more money? go cocksuck in hell

Mr David Trumpore so you like to read your name wrong? don't think so
  • 3 2
@mudmandhbrazil: see this is why you get called an ass.

And you want people to apologize to you ???

Keep the insults flowing. It makes you look real good here.
  • 1 1
@davetrumpore: Just go f*ck yourself somewhere please.
imagine you a famous photographer doing typos and mistakes all the time gonna say I am sorry???? never!
you are the king. king of high heels and typos...
  • 1 1
@mudmandhbrazil: Hahaha you are such a hypocritical goon. Just GTFO.
  • 2 1
@mudmandhbrazil: please keep going. I feel like you are just getting warmed up.

And please spell more words wrong when yelling about people spelling words wrong. It just adds to the humor of your argument.

Maybe the article should have more of the traditional questions asked. who? what? when? where? how? and why?

Why a custom linkage?

Why a prototype casing on what is easily the most popular DH tire?

DHF prototype casings. This has my attention. But only if they are better than Michelins renforced casings.
  • 1 0
You mean Michelin is so good they're currently the best?
  • 2 1
There is no such thing as the best, its all subjective and opinion. For me the Michys have the least compromises. For me, my bike, the trails I ride and the way I ride the Michys "feel" the best.

First frame from Canyon tickling my wantogenous zone. And it does it very well

Troy had the nicest bikes when he was riding for Specialized.

I think it's fair to say the current specialized riders of Loic and Finn are doing pretty well with their kit and frame designs of late. Certainly easily as flashy as Troys back last season. I'm a big fan of the canyon aesthetic though, geometric and purposeful.

@nickkk: It's true, I love their Demo 8! For me, the Specialized team has the coolest bikes.
