The tire pressures are secret, Troy will get mad at me if I tell you that! The bike is pretty normal really. He runs about 10% sag, he doesn't weigh much and we set it up nice and stiff and then play around with it over the weekend. The main thing we do is raise and lower the stanchion tubes to change the ride height, but the handlebars, stem and all that stays the same. He's pretty comfortable with his standard set up and just rolls with it. - Aaron Peltarri , Troy's Mechanic. |

Because I'm easy come, easy go
(These lyrics are appropriate for the Demo btw)
Didn't mean to make you cry
I see a little silhouetto of a man
Destroying a set of wheels, is kind of a compliment of how hard you ride. It's kinda nice, in a expensive way.
Or slippery sidewalk in the City...and a timber vehicle barrier post!

I know a few girls who use a similar technique, apparently that's how you can get the most out of it (your suspension).
That's what she said
It would be an odd kind of rider that copied that surely?!
Tyre pressures are a very personal thing and very much related to how often you want to buy new rims!
Why are the tire pressures a secret? It seems like they spill on everything else except tire pressure.
Of course, the odd person will decide it's not how they like it and change it up. For me, I was born in Australia but the first MTB I bought had the brakes setup Canadian style, so that's how I got used to it and always kept it that way.
As someone who raced moto for years and just recently started riding/racing mtb, I am curious why you and others want to run a moto style set up.
@gabriel-mission9: Interesting theory. I know on a moto the front brake is on the right because of the throttle. Really tough to clutch and throttle a moto with one hand.
That isn't very solid logic.
Just in case you were wondering.
