Bicycle Cafe - The Unicorn Rides Again

Apr 8, 2011
by Dylan Sherrard
I have attended the first two races and I making plans to be at this one as well - the Unicorn 5000 is a must do race for those looking to get into or are already regulars to DH racing in B.C. See ya there Sunday, May 8th!For the third year in a row the Bicycle Cafe's Unicorn 5000 downhill race will take place at Harper Mountain in Kamloops B.C. Located just above Paul Lake, Harper is rumored as the land which unicorns gallop toward in the early morning fog. If you wish to race amongst the silver manes and golden a horns of the famous Unicorn race, REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN.

After months of receiving e-mails and letters from participants of last year's Unicorn claiming to have seen a two-horned unicorn frolicking in the meadows, we have named this year's race the "Twonicorn" in honor of the strange beast's majestic mutation. Although none of us at the Bicycle Cafe have a formal education in the naming of mythological creatures, we are confident in the validity of our recently trademarked two-horn name.

The Unicorn generates an overwhelming amount of excitement and traffic in the Kamloops area and for such reasons we can only accept a limited number of racers. Pre-registration is now open at a fee of $45 + an additional charge for any racers not holding a race license. Call us at the Bicycle Cafe (250-828-2453) or email Cheryl@bicyclecafe.com for more details and information.

Make it a family event! At least while you are having the time of your life racing, the non racing members of your families can enjoy a great weekend at a cool place, with a bunch of really cool people. Not to mention one of the best places to mountain bike in the world.
